A trophy's a trophy mate. I said this before a while back, but winning this will boost morale and confidence as it did when Man United won it 5 years ago. They were in a similar situation to us in that they hadn't won a trophy in 3 years and after that CC win, they built momentum and the rest is history

I'm happy we're in the final. Is it my favorite trophy? No, but I like seeing my team win and they're doing exactly that right now

Gonna subscribe to Setanta-i so I can watch my games while I'm in Maui

Exactly what the last three said. It's a trophy.

What haven't Arsenal done for the past five years? Win a trophy. You never hear anyone say, well, it's been five years since Arsenal won the FA Cup, Premier League or Champions League. No, they say trophy.

Will I be disappointed if we win and it's the only trophy we win this year? Absolutely. However, it's a start for a team that is finally coming together after years of patience.

        Birmingham City in the final.

I think we can easily beat them by a few goals and I think it's also obvious we'll put out the best possibly squad we can.

(whoever is healthy in goal), Sagna, Djourou, Koscielny, Clichy, Song, Wilshere, Fabregas, Nasri, RVP and Walcott.

Birmingham put on one heck of a second half (and ET) to pull that one out!

Hopefully Song takes care of Lee Bowyer for the Sagna bull****.

I think we will still see Arshavin and Bendtner in the squad, maybe Denilson as well because while we could really really use this trophy to boost morale, it still is a competition Wenger likes using to keep players playing who aren't always seeing the field in the Premier League and develop youth. Arshavin and Bendtner aren't going to start for us in the League with how we are playing right now with the line-up you mentioned, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Wenger keep the faith in both those two and Denilson by giving them a huge game to show up for.

Hmmm. Good points. I'm so torn. I agree it'd be nice to see Bendtner stay in since he helped arrive at this point. But it's still a cup final, which is why I say absolute best squad, period.

Wenger knows how important this final is to get the critics off of his and his teams back. There is no way he doesn't field his strongest possible side.

This. After what happened in the first Leeds match and the first Ipswich leg, I find it hard to believe Wenger would risk anything when dealing with a cup final.

Every team plays the strongest side possible in a cup final. I find it hard to believe Arsene will be any different especially considering how desperate this team is to win a trophy.

I don't think we'll have to worry. Arsene will put out his best possibly squad. He wants a trophy just as much as all of us.

Agreed. While our depth is better than years' past, he will put out his strongest side no doubt. Birmingham will be a tough game, but our quality should shine through provided we play well

I hate you . I wish I was going to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vdNvnfmgMs this weekend, but instead I'll be enjoying cold, snowy weather. I'm going to Iceland in March, but it won't exactly be beach weather over there.

Squillaci, Diaby back in squad for FA Cup

Hopefully both are on the bench. I can't see either starting. I think if one did start, we'd all rather see Diaby start. However, Wilshere has officially won that spot, I believe.

Yeah, he won that spot a long time ago. And given the play this season of his teammates competing with him for playing time, I really can't see him getting many chances down the stretch. In fact, if I were Arsene I'd consider selling Diaby in the summer. We're a much better team than the one that started Diaby a ton last season, and if Aaron Ramsey can eventually make it back, that's just one more midfielder vying for PT. This is the first season in a long time that we've actually had adequate cover for injuries and don't have to listen to Wenger claim that healthy players are like new signings (though he may trot the line out with Vermaelen if no center back is signed in the transfer window).
