Something happens to you guys when you play them, though. Wait...thats usually Torres on Vidic, isn't it? Damnit.

Still, I think you have enough quality to give them issues.

Yep, it's always the same. We get up for the big boys and suck hard against Wigan, Blackpool, West Ham, etc. Every season is the same.

It's about the most frustrating thing any of my teams does. I don't get it.

But I guess we should probably discuss this over in our own thread

I believe "gutted" is the appropriate phrase... or maybe just "UGH". Why did Szczesny have to save his first significant howler -- that I can remember anyway -- for the 90th minute of a cup final? I love the kid and think he's the real deal, so hopefully it doesn't affect him moving forward.

I put equal blame on him and Koscielny. Nobody but those two or those near them know what was shouted or not shouted from Szczesny, but if Koscielny is going to go for it at all, whether or not there was an away shout, he needed to just put his boot through it.

They were at fault, but that's football right? S*&^ happens unfortunately. I've been reading on twitter how people are slamming the youth system and how Wenger's approach has failed. While I'm as disappointed as the next gooner, I have to say to those guys - CHILL out. It's not the end of the world. This is going to be the true test now - can we recover from this? I believe we can. Hopefully, RVP's not out for a long time

Yeah, saying his system has failed after a Carling Cup final loss is a bit hasty. Now, if no trophy is won after this season, then I think you'll see Wenger himself say it's been a failure. As before the season he said this is the year. If it doesn't work, he said he'd have to buy more experience players and what not.

Massive disappointment? Yes. Massive failure? No. I agree that the true test is what we can do after this. Will we let it ruin our season or will we turn it into a stepping stone towards something else. Let's hope it's the latter.

We just need one more player who is selfish in front of goal. Our defense is still shaky but we haven't had the same back 5 (GK included) for years now. I believe that bit of inconsistency doesn't help at all. One more selfish forward though could change the whole outlook on most games for us though. Two times against Birmingham we had a player on or near the corner of the 6 and we elected to play the ball across the face of goal instead of having an attempt at goal. If either of those chances had fallen to RvP it would have been a shot and most likely a goal, instead we walk away with nothing and our blunder makes it 2-1 Birmingham instead of 2-2 or possibly just 2-3. I feel this is the main reason he is such an asset to our team and our play rises when he is in the team. No one else has his strikers mentality, it showed Sunday.

Looks like RVP has been ruled out of the Barca return leg and will miss about a total of 3 weeks.

                    That's a blow.

Absolutely huge. Not even just for the CL, but the league as well.

We're facked. No Fab, Theo or RvP for the next 2 weeks. Bye bye silverware.

Yes, we are screwed... Now, how big was the CC game??

What is the time line for Vermealen and Ramsey's return?

Chamakh's and Bendtner's form of late will not get us there... unfortunately.
Arshavin being Jekyll & Hyde like, Cesc, more than likely, not at 100% when he does go in, and Nasri can't shoulder this team. [sigh]

                          Yes, we may be screwed.

We look screwed, but I have faith we can lift one trophy this season. I'm gutted we lost RVP for 3 weeks. Having said that, I hope and pray Chamakh returns to early season form and score some goals for us. He's proven he can score in Europe and the league....he just needs to rediscover that form and I think he can do it

Bendtner now has his chance to show us how good he THINKS he is. He has flattered to deceive so far. This could be his last chance to make an impression at the club or it's bye bye

We should beat LO tomorrow night and whatever happens at Barcelona will happen. I think our schedule is a little easier down the road than United and you just never know how things might go. I don't think we'll win the league, but we have a decent chance at the FA Cup and if we can somehow get a result at Barcelona, who knows?

RVP will be back for our stretch run as will Ramsey and Theo.

I sense some optimism in here and it's making me happy. Well, that and having the windows open at work. So excited for tomorrow night. A solild is just what we need to lift out spirits, so hopefully we can grab one.
