Tom Cruise is playing for Arsenal tonight!

Arsenal's line-up is the youngest in the history of the Champions League. Their starting XI has an average age of 21 years and 215 days, beating Ajax's record of 21 years and 355 days, set against Club Brugge exactly six years ago.

Arsenal: Fabianski, Gilbert, Bartley, Silvestre, Cruise, Ramsey, Song Billong, Merida, Walcott, Wilshere, Vela. Subs: Mannone, Coquelin, Eastmond, Ayling, Randall, Sunu.

Reading report on this game, it seems that Ramsey looked great (again) and Theo missed some opportunities.

Theo looked Rusty. It was Vela who missed opportunities he shouldn't have.

Ramsey looked like Fabregas, and some of his passes were so good they were scary.

          Ramsey is gonna be special.

Vela is starting to annoy me. Quit f'ing grinning and score some goals. And don't get me started on Walcott. He is terrible right now.

Recently, I'm extremely annoyed by Vela also going down far too easily when receiving the slightest contact. He could learn from someone like Arshavin, who fights through contact and is often rewarded with a goal, or even more contact resulting in a well deserved penalty.

Hes only 20, Arshavin has much more football under his belt. Vela has shown great passing and decision making. He needs to work on his right foot and his finishing should improve with more time on the pitch.

What's you guy's thoughts on Kyle Bartley. I picked him up in FIFA for my Coca Cola League 1 team...and he's been playing pretty well. I also watch pretty much any football that's on TV...and sure enough I was watching the Arsenal Champions League match the other day and there he was!

I was very surprised to see him...but who knew that my squad had picked up someone good enough to play for the youth squad at Arsenal? lol

Good surprise to say the least.

Bartley is nowhere near ready to play senior football for Arsenal on a regular basis. If he improves his positioning and his on the ball skills he could maybe make the bench consistently in a couple of years. In the end though I see him being sold to a Championship or lower level premiership side.

Fair enough, but he is morethan serviceable for my squad (Exeter) which just received a promotion to go from League 2 to League 1. As a matter of fact, he immediately became my highest rated outfield player.

Just goes to show how much my team sucked lol

Walcott I think needs more match experience coming off the injuries, but I agree wholeheartedly on Vela. Vela goes down far too easily and his finishing is so weak. It seems to be always right at the keeper without enough velocity, and that's assuming he's even gotten the shot off instead of falling down or turning the ball over. He's young and has potential, but even at his age he should be playing better, especially in regards to finishing. Especially when there are younger players like Ramsey playing so much better.

Huge result today. I don't care how Liverpool has been playing recently. To beat Liverpool's strongest possible side at Anfield is a big deal. What makes it even better is the fact that we really didn't play that well offensively. Our defense on the other hand was outstanding. Really nobody on our backline stood out it was just a great group performance.

Were right back in the thick of it for the title. But if Arsene doesn't go out and spend some money in January it will all be for nothing. We have to have and out and out striker. Arshavin is doing the best he can but he is not going to be able to man the line consistently for this team.

Especially since since Arsenal had trouble just getting Arshavin the ball, and he's much better when he can come to receive it.

And you're right. Absolutely fantastic result. It was a bit of an ugly win, but I have a feeling that is the way our wins will come until (if) Wenger buys someone given the team's injury status.

Well we know he wanted to come in August but he wasn't allowed to leave (or Wenger didn't bid high enough) so I could see this happening. And he's just the kind of player we need. Although now that we're back in the thick of the title race, it wouldn't surprise me if Wenger decides he has what he needs to win and chooses not to buy anyone.
