In somewhat related news Owen Coyle has said it's put up or shut up time in regards to Gary Cahill.

'"We know they have the interest, but if somebody is going to back that up, then do it - put your bid in, or if you don't, leave the kid alone and let him get on with his football. I think that is only fair for everybody,'' he said
Considering we've never publicly talked about him, he can shut it. He's going through the media to talk about something that we haven't talked about in the media. What a tool.

Also, Emirates Cup on ESPN3. Yay! Gervinho is great and by that, I mean how direct he is and how he attacks. Something we needed last year.

Our defense is ****. Utterly ****. Today showed it again.

Brilliant teamwork in the attacking third, none in our defensive.

      Consider me worried.

Yeah, it just dumbfounds me when some Arsenal fans believe that either Koscielny or Djourou are good enough to partner TV5. Signing a central defender should be priority numero uno.

Today showed once again that Djourou has no business being in the starting eleven. None. He consistently makes mistakes and the fact that people failed to see that last season is insane. At this point, I'd rather see Koscielny out there instead of him.

Ugh. We need to make a signing. Badly.

Bartley just won himself the starting role next to Vermaelen!

I haven't even watched highlights yet, but I'm not liking what I'm reading. This team has some serious work to do ahead of the season.

Not yet, but Wenger's press conference starts soon so I'm sure we'll get an update then.

Wilshere should be fine for the start of the season.

It is not very serious. They say he might be out for the whole of next week because he has an ankle inflammation. But he has not torn anything. He is a quick healer usually and a tough boy so I hope he will be quicker than the medical predictions. The England game is on August 10 and I don’t know [whether he will be available]. They told me he might be out next week. If he is out next week, he will not play against Benfica so he will certainly not play for England.

Well, we just lost out best chance at silverware this season.

They deserved to. So many missed chances and then they gave away another game. You could almost feel the tension in the crowd with 15 to go when NY started to make some quick attacks. The ultimate dagger would have been if Rooney scored.

While there was poor play, it's the Emirates Cup. By that, I only mean there shouldn't be booing. If the play like that once the season starts (as they very well could) then boo. However, the game meant nothing except for fitness.

Plus, this team has been booed off the pitch before and it's done nothing. It certainly didn't motivate them last year.

Would it kill Wenger (or the board) to just buy who the fans are asking for? Say they just overspend and bring in 2 CB, a LB a winger and a striker, all of high profile and experience to please the fans. No matter what happens after, all the pressure is off Wenger. If we win, all is better and we did what was needed to bring trophies. If the team is worse off, the fans have no one to blame but themselves for pressuring the team into heading the wrong direction. Until then, it looks as if Arsene and the board aren't doing enough and won't listen to their most important assets.
