In general, I agree that Song's most effective position is sitting in front of the defense, intercepting balls and breaking up plays, I think lately (and especially Sunday) he's been pushing up outta necessity.

The truth is, right at this moment, Song is the best passer in our midfield. Yes, better than Arteta. Again, I'd love to see him sitting deeper and pulling strings from there, but his long range passing has been needed closer to goal to help create chances when we are looking stagnant.

What is everyone's thought on the test tonight in France. We really need at least 1 point with Dortmund playing Olympiacos...

I know RvP will show up, just hope that the midfield shows up as well as our back 4 are on their game.

      Go Gunners!

I think RVP will be on the bench.

I do think we'll grab three points, but don't be so positive that Dortmund will grab all three. They haven't been too consistent this year.

You think RvP will come in at all? Could see him being on the bench, although with us needing the 1 point to go through and the "possibility" of Dortmund getting a result and us not going through, I don't know. Who plays up front, Chamakh? Arshavin? It's true that Dortmund would need a few goals and us losing, but I would rather be sitting atop the group than 2nd...

Hope you're right about Dortmund! That would help.

As mentioned on the Arseblog this morning, I think we'll rest some players. I believe Chamakh can come on and get the job done. Feed him a few crosses and he'll put one in.

Ramsey in stoppage time for the win.

Kid has been busting his *** for this side and I'm glad to see something occur that more fully proves it.

So happy to come away with 3 points here. Tough away game and not only are we top of the group, but that's 5 wins out of our last 6 games which is HUGE for confidence.

Nice to see Ramsey make an impact as well---I haven't been his biggest fan lately, but I'll gladly change my tune if he keeps coming up witch clutch play like this!

Just had the opportunity to watch it off the DVR and not a bad game. There were chances for both teams and Arsenal had the edge in possession and probably creativity. Take the 3 points anyway we can get them at this point.

And Krebster, spot on about Dortmund. Man, talk about a real Jekyll and Hyde team!!

Wasn't surprised to see RvP start and play... little surprised that Arshavin played as long as he did, not that he started, but damn is he lazy. Little disappointed in Walcott again, he doesn't seem to utilize his speed when he has it in spades over the defender on him.

Hope Jenkinson isn't too severely injured, that's all Wenger and the team (or the supporters) needs.

I actually thought Walcott played well, but there were several great runs he made that Jenkinson just didn't see.

We need more than one person in the box. It can't just be only RVP. Otherwise our crosses are just never going to work.

I'm encouraged by us dominating possession. I think that as this squad continues to gel, the goals will come.

Djourou I thought played well as an RB, but if Jenkinson has to miss any time, we might be in trouble. Koscienly says he can play there, but at this point I'm not happy with any non-RB playing the position. But if it has to happen, it has to happen.

Finally, can we please, just once, play entire game without doing something completely stupid? I mean, how on earth did Song think it was a good idea to just try and dribble out of his own box. We make way too many mistakes like that for a top-flight team.

All-in-all a good win, and hopefully a momentum builder. Do we actually have a shot at a win streak? It's probably just a mirage, but one can hope.

I was just saying that I was disappointed that Walcott didn't use his speed. I only remember twice that he blew by his defender and put the other team on their back foot, he could do that a lot if he wanted to.

And agreed about Jenkinson not going with Walcott , but I think he will get there. He also crossed the ball several times when clearly he should have played a square or diagonal ball into Walcott or Arteta, but bam, he crosses and we have RvP and 4-6 defenders in the box. I like Jenkinson back there though and for a youngster he has a ton of potential.

Also noticed several times what a few noticed in the Sunderland game (I didn't get to see it) that Song was pushing forward past Arteta and feeding the ball into RvP, Arshavin, or Walcott. I guess that is by design, maybe giving Arteta a break here and there. I did think Koscielny played very well, he was solid and smart several times.

If Jenkinson is out, we need TV5 back soon. Otherwise, we're one injury away from Squillaci.

TV5 should be back very soon. Maybe even by the weekend. In which case I think we may see Kos go to RB and a Mert/TV5 CB pairing.
