Defence is so poor, I am not use to seeing Arsenal play like this. This 4-3-3 formation is not working, and RVP needs to be playing off a striker.

      4-4-mother****ing-2, please.

Put Chamakh in front of RVP.

      No chance it happens, though.

Yup I am surprised van Persie is able to score so much with that formation also I wish I could smack Wenger for not signing Scott Parker, he was everywhere breaking up passes and all.

Interesting that you mention Parker. During the game, there were a few moments where he wasn't that great on the ball and I thought out loud, "well, that is why we didn't sign him". Because he didn't fit into our style.

However, I then immediately said "that is why we should've signed him". So he isn't great on the ball, but at least he's always around it and works his *** off. We need far more of that on our team. The overall makeup of our team right now is very, very poor.

Wilshere has that fire, but he's out. TV5 has that fire, but he's out. Ramsey has that fire, but he's been poor in terms of decision making for several games.

It seems like nearly every goal we give up is a less a result of the other team scoring and more a result our defense playing like a U-12 youth soccer team.

Walker's goal was just a great shot with a bit of luck as it was dipping and swerving. Those happen to everyone, so it's alright. But as you said, the first goal was just ridiculous and the pass shouldn't have been made, as if we were in better positions it could've been avoided.

Really? Song has been great at CB before and Coquelin has proven to have a serious future. Kid is a beast in training.

no doubt, especially to song probably our best all around athlete, but this is the premier league and when you playing a training ground star who's not ready IMHO(although he played better than Ramsey) and one of your best players out of position your going to struggle.

Except Coquelin played really well, and Song at CB was not the cause of either goal. The first was a lack of hustle/positioning and the second was luck combined with poor goalkeeping (though SZCZ kept us in the match with some fantastic saves, so overall I think he played well). The thing is, if we actually defend well from a fundamental standpoint (i.e. not giving up easy goals), we draw that game. I know Wenger keeps insisting that our current coaches are really working on the defense, but they're clearly not doing a good enough job. We need a defensive specialist, and we need one ASAP. Also, NO to zonal marking. It's just not working.

So Sagna is out for about 3 months or so with a broken leg.

The good news is we played pretty poorly that game and could have had a result if not for another once-in-a-lifetime strike from a completely unlikely source during the North London Derby. This means we are at least turning more into a team that will do anything for the result, rather than one that hopes for results as a byproduct of a certain brand of football. The bad news is we lost our starting right back for 3 months (at the least, we all know how Arsenal players recovery timetables go) and we also didn't get a result. RvP had no help going forward, Ramsey was awful apart from his finish, Walcott was non-existent and we gave up a very very easy goal to van der Vaart strictly because of poor marking and fundamentals. MOTM for me was Song with Coquelin a close second. It is just frustrating for us to continue to lose due to basic defending mistakes and lapses. How no one at the club can do anything to correct this is beyond me.

If there was one thing you could enjoy from that match, it was Adebayor missing a sitter. He scores on that 9 times out of 10.

Although, I've heard that some of the chants from some Arsenal fans both yesterday and from before the infamous celebration were pretty disgraceful. That changes my perception of that whole incident just a little bit.

Yeah, I read what Harry said he heard directed at Ade and as much as I don't like him for what he had done after leaving the club and now being at Sp*rs, that stuff is uncalled for. Needs to be removed from the game altogether.
