I'd take Micah Richards' mother at center back at this point.

Man, I never thought Gallas ever was a solid Central Defender, his style fits better at Left Back, well at least from what I saw from him at Chelsea. So yeah I can understand why Micah Richards will be better than him in the future.

shes good in the air but not as fast as she was

Micah's problem is playing at city where they often dont ask anyone in midfield to defend- that sounds familar

hes got bags of talent and raw potential so pick him up wait for Tony to lose his job at Pompey and hire him as a personal coach job done

I would much rather have Matthew Upson. He would probably cost much less as well. I don't really see Micah Richards as an improvement over what we have right now, with the form that he has been on this year.

Considering we got a draw after only playing about two minutes of inspired football, I'm thrilled with the result. Once again holding possession and our inability to give our strikers any good delivery really hampered us.

              correct

we could nt hold onto the ball and when we did we could nt put a killer pass in either, but credit Everton as well a tough team at home

excellent pass by Diaby to release Robin and I think thats the first time ive seen Diaby last 90 mins

still praying we dont get Asharvin and its great big smoke screen as we sign Noble and Upson from "the 'Ammers"

                I like Upson, but Noble?

Arshavin would help our central midfield soooo much.

                Play a diamond:

                Almunia
                Sagna - Toure/Djourou - Gallas - Clichy
                -----------Denilson-------------
                Eboue-------------------Nasri
                ------------Arshavin-----------
                --------Van Persie-------------
                --------------------Adebayor----

                Money.

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***

Wenger spoke with Arsenal TV today. I was fully expecting him to say that the deal was 90% "not done" after all those presumptuous stories yesterday implying that he meant it was 90% done. And is it really a "serious inquiry" if you don't make a bid? Oh well, the last few days of the window should be interesting, but likely not for Arsenal...

Arsene on Arshavin: He says it was 90% not done. Won't have long to wait now, it's the 29th. It's make or break. If it can be done we want to do it as quickly as possible.

Other targets: "You can never rule it out. At the moment it's more important to focus on the players we have, because every game is like a big battle. We cannot afford to be distracted because we want to focus completely on the players we have. Very happy with the attitude of the group so let's do that first."

Have you made any serious enquires for any player apart from Arshavin? "We have, of course, made serious enquiries but at the moment not any bid.

Russian media had a story earlier that we were granted a work permit for Arshavin and that Arsenal would be announcing the deal "within hours" which would be any time now.

I seriously doubt it but who knows...this has been the most ridiculous and tedious transfer saga I can remember.

I can see it going all the way until the end of the window TBH.

I agree. There are more flip-flopping stories on what will happen then there were when the Red Sox tried to trade for A-Rod.

Instead of tracking down Arshavin news today, I stuck a fork in each eye. In the end, I found it slightly less frustrating...

Just a heads up -- the Gunnerblog is live-blogging the end of the window. It's actually quite entertaining in its preposterousness [I feel such a silly attempt at a word is appropriate given the silliness of the situation]. There's been the requisite on & off, highlighted by stories of Arshavin leaving his hotel in a "huff" to fly back to Russia, which is now been revealed as only a smoke screen to throw Sky Sports off the trail... as reported by, you guessed it, Sky Sports!

18.50 Arsene Wenger has told Sky Sports News that Arsenal will make a "positive" announcement on the Andrei Arshavin saga this later evening.

well the reason we sold Upson was he could nt stay fit and hes struggled at times everywhere he's been

Noble does everything we need in a midfielder he does nt cross the half way line he tackles he runs for 90 minutes he presses he hassles he stops the easy pass and in possesion he gives it to someone else nice and simple

I get what your saying witht the diamond but what happens when Walcott Cesc and (maybe)roskicy are fit?

my guess is he becomes a 15 million sub!

christ whats wrong with 3 million on Oliver Dacourt or Nicky Butt or anyone like that a holder a defensive midfielder a ball winner
