It's apparently even closer to a done deal now, with it being reported that wages have been agreed upon. I really hope it can happen.

I might finally be able to watch again(I said I wouldn't watch until we signed a centreback)

Also, I've always liked Coquelin(even said so in this thread previously) I'm not sure if he's good enough to be a regular, but time will tell.

Coquelin is not a long term solution, but he can get us through this season with Arteta out the next 3 months. He's turning into a viable rotation player who can give something if we need it. This time last year, couldn't say the same. He's moved way past Flamini because he has so much more positional discipline than Mathieu and yet still can tackle tough if we need it. I still believe Schinderlein, Bender or Carvalho, Lucas Silva will be the long term answers for us, but Coquelin still yet has a place regardless.

Thats if Coq stays with the club. His contract is running out and he could leave on a free. Right now Wenger has no choice to play him if he wants him to renew his contract.

And none of us would be surprised if he's resigned, and considered the new number one at that position.

Still holding out hope for the Summer.

Sanogo and Chamakh score all the goals as Palace beat Southampton in the Cup.

City, Chelsea, Spurs, Southampton all are out the cup. Time to go on a run to Wembley.

Villarreal have official confirmed a deal has been agreed to in principle for Gabriel, and that Campbell will be sent there on loan for the rest of the season.

                Sounds rather swell.

A win is a win. A couple of things:

                      1. Ospina should take over from Szcz.

                      2. Flamini should never see the field again.

                      3. Ramsey should be dropped. He was poor today.

                      4. Chambers shouldn't be at RB. Yes he did have the assist but he's a CB. More Bellerin please.

We have a damn good shot at the FA Cup again now considering Chelsea, City, Spurs, and Southampton are all out.

                        Do it, boys.

We won! Well it wasn't that close but we got sloppy and tight in the 2nd half. Good see Theo and Ozil score as it will help their confidence and good to see that we were able to rest Sanchez for a while. Ramsey was poor but he's also coming back from injury so he needs time to get back into form. I do agree that Ospina might indeed be the form keeper right now. I'm glad we signed a defender though.

I am just glad to see Rosicky still out there giving his all been a fan of him since his BVB days and hope he finishes his career as a Gunner because I still feel when fit he is still class IMO. Also I felt Ramsey did fine although looked a bit rusted, playing alongside Flamini really doesn't help his game, which he should be dropped at this point seems like his head isn't in matches at times.

Yeah, Flamini is really hurting this team right now. He is constantly out of position and doesn't get tight enough to his man when tracking back. Chambers and Ramsey weren't great because Flamini didnt give those guys support at all. Barking orders and trying to organize is fine, but Jesus have your self in the correct spot too. Coquelin will be guy for now in the holding spot until Arteta is back. But hey Ozil, Theo and Rosicky all score and we won a good match against a plucky Brighton side when everyone else around us either lost or have a replay coming. I'd call it a success and move forward. On to Villa then at Spuds.

After the previous two seasons I had thought our defensive lapses were a thing of the past. But boy, was I wrong.

Still, a win is a win, and we have a golden chance at the FA Cup now, with the titans that fell this weekend. Let's go win it.
