At times? Try all the time. And the fact that he says he never dives is what is a "disgrace."

The fact is, diving is a problem, and something needs to be done about it. There is no defending what Eduardo did. However, it had no effect on the game, and you can't ban him for two-to-four matches like has been rumored unless you are going to institute a policy to ban ALL players this way. In other words, this can't be a one-time thing because Celtic and the media makes a stink about it. Either implement a policy with bans for diving or don't ban Eduardo, because why should he be banned for an offense that, as of now, warrants a yellow card in a match? If you're caught, it's a yellow card, but if you get away with it, you're later banned? That's extremely unfair.

I hope they do institute a policy for greater punishment to reduce dives. But it must be universal.

      I'm against diving too.

But you can't ban a guy 2 games for a yellow card offense. If FIFA or UEFA is gonna institute a ban for blatant diving they need to do it before the season starts. They just can't start handing bans out because of one dive.

      Thats ludicrous!

Fabregas is out for the United game this weekend. Let's hope Denilson, Song, and Diaby can step it up

I'll weigh in on the Eduardo saga...

First off, it wasn't a blatant dive...there was contact, however minimal, he went over easy. Wenger has come out and said they can prove there was contact, do you think he would do that if there wasn't contact? Come on now.

The ref didn't see it as a penalty...funny how the joke that is UEFA is now going to go back and charge him with something that warrants at the most a yellow.

And since they're on this kick, they going to charge Babel for diving against Arsenal two years ago in the 2nd leg at Anfield? What about all the times Ronaldo, Gerrard, Drogba, etc. committed a dive? They going to be charged? Ashley Young going to be charged for his TWO dives yesterday? What about Messi today for trying to headbutt a Shaktar player and causing a scene? OF COURSE NOT. It's an absolute joke.

I'd really love to hear why this one incident is deserving of a charge? Simple as that. Does it happen if it's against anyone other than Celtic or from an English player? Is the same media backlash there? I think not.

Pathetic, period. Not surprising though, Platini has been after Wenger and Arsenal for a while now.

Hell even Andy Gray agrees, great article: http://www.skysports.com/opinion/sto...520431,00.html

This was straight from Platini's mouth...

And he has form for this sort of thing too. After a UEFA meeting in June last year, Platini said:

"I'm not saying that simulation should be allowed, but you get involved in a very difficult (punishment) mechanism. I don't think one should overturn actions taken by the referee."

              Platini and UEFA....

Ah well, hoping for 3 pts. tomorrow.

Anyways, I'm not sure what to think of the game tomorrow. Without Cesc I'm fearful of our midfield vs their's. I'm optimistic though and I'll be happy with a draw and stoked with 3 points.

I'm optimistic, too. If Burnley can beat them, surely our midfield has the ability to cover.

But I'd feel a heck of a lot better with Cesc in there. Like you, I'd be happy with the point.

By the way, Wenger is considering not playing Eduardo: http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-arc...ossed-my-mind-

I'd put him as a sub. Bendtner-RVP-Arshavin in the 4-3-3 should be fine.

I was thinking the same thing, but it seems like he's thinking of not even making him a potential sub, which seems drastic, especially given the fact that if he is to get banned, it hasn't yet, and even if the refs do watch him more closely than normal and look for dives, his quality is such that he should at least be on the bench.

He has to keep him as a sub, we don't have another forward that's fit. He'd be a great super sub, bring him in in the 65th minute and watch him tear apart United's makeshift back 4.

I agree, much like Arshavin did against Celtic in leg 2, which is why I was surprised Wenger was contemplating not having him on the bench.

But I think Wenger will change his mind. We need our best players available. Especially with Cesc out.

I'm so glad we got rid of Toure instead of Will. Everybody other than Eboue is looking pretty good so far.
