Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
The hardest choices require the strongest wills.
After eight years with the club, Carl Jenkinson leaves in search of first-team football at Nottingham Forest. With his departure, everyone from the 2012 contract signing picture is gone.
Carl also wrote a nice message:

I’m leaving Arsenal in pursuit of a new challenge and a fresh start, and ultimately to play regular football again. I can’t really put into words what it has meant to me to play for this club, but what I can say is I have truly lived my dream. This brings me to you, the proper Arsenal fans, as I have lived your dream too. It has been an up and down journey for me but I hope you all have seen how much it has meant to me and know that I have given it my all. I have played 70 games for Arsenal which if you told me I would do as a kid I would’ve laughed at you. I take many great memories and friendships from my time at this special football club, and it is a chapter in my life that I will cherish forever. I see a great future for this club under the current manager and coaching staff, and I look forward to seeing this unfold. As for now, I’ll take my seat back in the stand, as a fan, with the rest of you. With love, Jenko #afc".Support Local Sports

Everton offered us £30m for Alex Iwobi. We’d let him go but closer to £40m, apparently.
I’d honestly be sad to see him go. He’s an academy product, and is a solid squad player and someone who can come into a game and offer something different.
However, if that helps us bring in a solid CB, I’m for it. However, I’d much rather see us move on Mkhi.
Today and tomorrow are going to be nuts.Comment

If Iwobi goes I’d like to see Smith-Rowe be part of the first team squad in his place.
Use the cash to get the CB from Leipzig and Tierney across the line.

What if part of getting Upamecano means ESR heading to Leipzig on loan for a year or two?
I’d be okay with that. I definitely want to hold onto as many promising youngsters as possible.Comment

David Luiz's passing ability from deep will be vital to us this season.
Emery wants to play from the back, thus inviting a press. New goal kick rules will also help teams play from the back and stretch defensive lines. Luiz passing through/over a press and allowing players like Auba and Pepe space to get in behind, or between lines before running at the defense will be massive.
I love the Luiz signing. It's not a Cahill or Evans type of signing—we're not just signing a body and filling a gap. It's an experienced defender with great technical ability which can aid in our attack.
Is he perfect? No. Is he the future? No. Is he better than Mustafi? Absolutely.
Let's not forget, he's replacing a player who no longer wanted to be at the club who also had fitness issue and recently had a very serious injury.
Great signing.Comment

Honestly, a large majority of the supporter's were fretting far too early. I know, there's a long history to draw from, but the hysteria over us not having signed anyone was still too much. One of the problems is that Arsenal stories get clicks—so there are constant rumors written and when nothing is then happening ridiculous panic sets in.
I still think our window will improve from here as we're likely to get at least one more player off the books before the European window closes.Comment

"3-4 weeks ago" is the biggest issue there. Just like how the season shouldn't start before the window closes, conclusions can not be made until the window closes. Someone put you in an odd position—was it Steve?!

Lol Naa Steve is super chill.
I usually generate my own articles but I was thinking this was going to be typical Arsenal but you guys are proving me wrong.
