I know...that was a bad loss. Thing is, we actually were the better team the first 20 or so minutes in the game. What we lack is a finisher and a good goalkeeper....Almunia is horrible and we don't have a Torres or Drogba who can finish our wonderful plays off....

Wenger needs to stop being stubborn and do something

      Def your biggest needs.

Because of this result, does Wenger buy now?

Agreed. He won't buy because his targets can't even play in the CL. Rooney was amazing though. I really like his progress and he's really stepped up since Ronaldo left

Wenger needs to really invest in a keeper. Our defense can't save Almunia from himself. He's just awful on set pieces and his blunders in big games really kills us.

I'm done venting - now we look forward and try to win against Chelsea

Isn't David Villa one? Thought I saw something on Sky Sports mentioning him.

Thats nothing more than a pipe dream. Wenger has just pissed away probably his best chance to win a title for the forseeable future and it really ticks me off.

Question now becomes: Can we keep Barcelona away from Cesc for another Summer?

And it's also his goal kicks and punts. He sends the ball either straight to the opposition or too far over the head of a guy like Arshavin who leaps in vain for the ball. Everytime Arsenal pass back to Almunia the end result is the other team with the ball, and it really hurts our ability to control possession.

I don't think will be seeing a new keeper in here anytime soon. It seems Wenger has put all his eggs in Fabianski basket. And is using Almunia to hold the position until he gets ready.

You know how that goes. Whether Fabianski is the answer or not, he will get the chance to prove himself. Ugh.

As you guys can probably tell, I'm really pissed at Wengers refusal to spend money.

                    lol

I love coming here to read some of these posts

christ if you lot went on Arseweb or some other sites and saw the poisen and hate being sent in Wengers direction lol

In my opinion the game was very even the difference was Rooney and Nanni im guesss Gael isnt fit yet because Nanni killed him all day down the left
Utd sat on cesc and stopped him from controlling the game
Asharvin was a greedy little ****e in the first 25 mins and could of set up Nasri 3 times
as to Almunia it was nt a "blunder" own goal he tried to put it over his own bar if he'd missed then 2 utd players would have fought over the goal.

and to who ever said Alumnia is bad at goal kicks
its the out field players job to win the header - the ball keeps coming back because we only have players who are 4ft8 high

from what ive seen and read Bendtner is 2-3 games away from match fitness but will be a massive upgrade over Eduardo
this half season could be the making of him and get everyone off Wengers back about buying a striker

we have had a terrible run of injuries- 3rd choice left back(torre) and forth choice Striker(asharvin) and when you have a thin squad anyway it can really hurt you

Unfortuantly Chelsea are going to tear us to bits and if Bendner does nt start we have no chance
Chelsea will give us the by line all game and JT and the rest will deal with it so they can congest the midfield and defend in two narror banks of 4 very hard to flick and one touch passes thro 8 players!!
                    "whats wrong with him?"
                    "he's got a concussion boss"
                    "can he play?"
"boss he does nt know who he is!"
"well tell him he's Pele and get him fecking back on"

We will see if Nic finally emerges. Its definitely far from a given. With or without Nic a striker could've definitely been used as our backup striker will once again be Eduardo and 4 foot Arshavin playing out of position. Or worst yet, Vela and Walcott.

Nick does need some games to get back in match shape, but I agree that our lack of depth at the striker position is very worrying. Everyone has missed some time this season...I do think losing Diaby hurt too. He's been very important this season and I hope he comes back soon because we need him this weekend

The point is that Nick is far from a sure thing. Healthy or not.

Remember this is the same Nicolas Bendtner that has us pulling our hair for most of last year. I can't believe there are some Arsenal fans that are so willing to put all of there eggs in the Bendtner basket.

Been looking at some Barcelona boards over the last couple of days. As I will probably start semi supporting them if Cesc ever does go there (I know I have semi supported Madrid as well, but haven't followed them closely since Zidane left. And Cesc is probably my favorite player ever and I just can't see myself not supporting him wherever he goes). God, thats an arrogant fanbase. Everyone over at those boards honestly believes that they can have Cesc whenever they please.

I pray that Cesc stays at Arsenal for life. So I don't have to be a part of an arrogant fanbase like that. (no offense, perceptor.)

The only thing that would be worse is if an EPL team bought him. As there is no way I would support another team in England other than Arsenal.

3 points back with a win on Sunday. UP THE ARSE!!!!

Nick is inconsistent, but the optimist in me says he will do better. I love Barca, but Arsenal will always be my fav. I hope Cesc stays too, but I have a bad feeling he will go back. I'd say in the next 3-5 years he will go back.

You liked my transfer stash remark eh? LOL - the reason I say that is because in Wenger's contract, all the transfer money he gets can be used by him whenever he wants. That's why people go after him to buy someone because if you calculate who we've bought compared to who we sold, we definitely made money as sellers.

And I would be fine with not buying with the team we have now if they were fully healthy. But I just don't see how Wenger can look out at who he's putting on the pitch and see that team as one with the capability to win CL and the EPL.

Anyone have predictions for Sunday's game?

I think we're either in for an absolute beating, or we shock everyone and pull out a win by a few goals. I don't see either team winning a close game, at least on the scoreboard.
