There is hype around him, but the problem is, people who believe in him buy into the hype, as well as those who criticize him.

So, even those who say he's rubbish, only say it because they themselves also think he should be incredible.

He's barely played at all, so it's time the expectations are brought down to a more realistic standard.

I personally think Walcott is rubbish and is a one tool player. Nasri on the other hand can play, he has shown the skill thats required to play for Arsenal. He has been injured most of the year as well. Though nobody seems to want to give him the same kind of leeway that they give Walcott.

        Hmm, I wonder why?

I love Nasri. He's one of my favorite players at Arsenal and he will be an elite player. He's pretty good now. His injury set him back, but he's got skills and will be successful. I'm with ZM

As for Walcott, I've been a defender because of his age and injuries as to why he hasn't really developed. I too am starting to wonder if my faith in him has been misplaced

He has pace and that's about it. He doesn't have the smarts IMHO or the finishing to be considered a true threat. His crossing is abysmal and he gets hurt seemingly all the time

I once thought he was Wenger's chosen replacement for Henry. In truth, Walcott is nothing like Henry and to compare them is an insult to Henry himself.

I do hope personally that Walcott can turn things around, but as it stands now, he's looking more and more like a complete bust who was overhyped by the English media....Go figure eh?

Are you actually suggesting the English press is in some way biased towards English players and treats foreign, noteably Arsenal, players worse, to the point of expressing large amounts of xenophobia?!?!

To be fair, I haven't heard a lot of people sniping about Nasri. Walcott is actually the one people pile on the most from what I see on other boards and the media.

Anyhow, we have a huge game tomorrow and if we are to salvage anything from this tough stretch of games, we need to beat Liverpool. The Reds have looked better of late and we need this win to stay 3rd place.

              C'mon you Gunners!!!

The Mirror is reporting -- or do they understand or have sources told them? -- that Maroune Chamakh has signed a 5-year pre-contract deal (meaning he joins in the summer) with Arsenal with a weekly wage in the neighborhood of 50K. He is reportedly earning about 21K/wk with Bordeaux. Saw it in the Arseblog and read the link earlier today, but too lazy to post it.

Just this minute read on Sky that Chamakh says no deal is done yet. Hard to know what to believe.

Saw an article on ESPN Soccernet that quoted Chamakh as saying "there is no signature" but there has been contact. Apparently he recently said if he had his choice of where he goes it would be Arsenal. At this point, I don't care and it's not worth the time/energy to read every tidbit of gossip in an attempt to determine what's true and what's not.

Wish I could see today's game...

Leaving in a few minutes to go home and watch. I think this is a make or break game for both of us. Good luck should be a hard fought game.

Crazy how much can change in an afternoon. Looking ahead, we have 2 tougher games (Man City and Sp*rs), while Chelsea has 5 (Liverpool, Man U, Villa, City, Sp*rs) and Man U has 4 (Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Sp*rs). Despite our struggles the last 3 before today, I would say we were in pretty good shape to take a run at some silverware.

A lot of confidence from you guys. You guys do know its the middle of Febuary.

Now I don't think we have enough horses to battle back and actually win the title, but we could definitely make things interesting along the way.

Still a lot of points to be won or lost between now and May.
