Wenger didn't seem nearly as displeased at the end of the game as I thought he would. Makes me think he's pretty confident with the 2nd leg

You can tell that our backline has lost all faith in Almunia and Fabs. Hell, I don't think Almunia and Gallas make eye contact anymore.

My friend that I watched it with was gutted, but I came away feeling alright. We got an important away goal, and while it we're in a much better position than a team like Milan are going into their second leg

What's going on with Mannone? is he injured? He made a shaky start against Liege in the CL but played quite well in the league and again in the CL against Olympiakos. Kept several clean sheets.

I think once Fabianski was fit, he dropped back down to third. Understandable for the most part, leading up to Wednesday, as apparently in training Fabianski always looks excellent.

Training and actual games are 2 very aspects for Fabianski lol.

Saw the game today and while I'm glad we won, we should have won by a lot more. Walcott was horrible and Lou Macari's assessment of him was dead on.

He's a winger so hug the freaking touchline instead of running through the middle of the park.

And WTF is wrong with his crossing? He's brutal. I lost count how many times he missed Bendtner for some good scoring chances. Anyhow, I hope Capello doesn't pick him because he doesn't deserve to be on the England team. I liked Theo a lot when Wenger bought him, but the reality is that he sucks...plain and simple.

Bendtner needs to also learn to freaking stay in the box. When we were on the attack and Fabregas, Ramsey, and Nasri were getting balls into the area, there was no Bendtner in sight to finish. Dude, what the heck were you doing outside the area???

Done ranting and glad we won. But we need to make more of our chances.

I agree completely. I am glad that we won and that FINALLY we won a penalty. Eboue looked great, and last year I never thought I'd say that. Bendtner strayed too far outside the box and his passing was poor which took away any usefulness he had when tracking back to get the ball. Walcott made some great runs but it always seems like he beats the defense, then thinks, "Crap. I didn't expect to make it this far. What do I do now?" And he then either attempts a feeble shot right at the keeper or a feeble pass that doesn't reach a teammate.

Out defense didn't have to do much, but when called upon they gave away too many one-on-ones. This is the type of performance that won't get us a home win against Porto. Because Porto won't miss those "gimme" opportunities we gave Sunderland, and despite dominating the match we only netted one goal and a penalty. It doesn't matter how many chances you create if you don't convert those chances into goals.

A win is a win, but we should have won at least 3-0.

Two people really stood out for me yesterday, and they were Eboue and Ramsey. If he can play consistently like that, I have no problem with Eboue being at RB or even RM. Ramsey, while making a few mistakes, showed to me just how much more he adds to the team when he's in instead of Denilson.

Nasri also really had a good game for the most part. At times, when moving with the ball, he reminded me of Fabregas, just in his movement and knowing where to put it.

A prettier win would've been nice, but on a day when Man U drops three points, I'll take any kind of win, period.

At this point I don't think its much of a choice as to who to put at RM between Theo and Eboue. Eboue actually runs at defenders and puts himself in dangerous positions everytime he got the ball yesterday.

Theo doesn't even do that against a subpar RB like George McCartney. You would think that after he outran him twice while being at a 5 yard disadvantage each time, Walcott would pick up that he could abuse him at will. But no he wants to try to play in the center of the park.

I absolutely love Eboue and he was man of the match for me Saturday. He was basically playing RB and RM before Sagna was brought up. Excellent match for him. With that said, I still think Theo's upside is too great to just bury him on the bench. His crosses were poor, but he did an ok job getting in behind the defense and his first touch looked improved. He is a bit short on confidence after the injuries, but we've seen what he can do when he is on. I applaud AW for sticking with the lad.

It was put very well on the Arseblog today, saying Walcott's pace is absolutely frightening, but so is his final ball.

The one time he actually got the ball from a throw in from Eboue and ran straight at the defense, and got off a decent shot. If he did that twice more, against a defense of that poor caliber, I think he would've got a goal. Despite his poor finishing, I think he had one eventually.

Yup. I just hope we can keep winning games and getting the results we need and hope that United and Chelsea will drop some points. Our final stretch of games is easier than the other 2.....

Looks like Cech could miss three weeks with his calf injury, which at this point only helps us.

If we stay relatively fit for the rest of the season, I think we have a very slight chance of doing something special.

Wait, stay relatively fit? Nevermind, I'll just settle into third now.

The great thing about our wise spending the last few years is that it will pay off in the long run. In about 5 or 10 years (I know thats a long time away) once we finally finish paying off the Emirates.

We will be swimming in cash. And will probably be the best team in the EPL for the next couple of decades.
