This is also first window without massive Özil wages. Hopefully that will count for something...?

Sadly that money was still spent, most of it I'm sure as part of his release.

I don't think we will nor should we bring in a few players on bigger money, I hope we bring in younger talent that can grow and some even eventually move on. The profile of our transfers has to improve. No more Willian, Luiz, Cedric, etc.

Hmm...do the three of them have something in common? Odd.

I think you HAVE to move on from Laca. He's already a subpar athlete and that's only going to decline more now since he hits 30 (i know the wheels dont fall off as soon as he hits 30). It's a time where you get some value for him although in this COVID restricted fiscal climate teams might wait until his contract runs out after next year.

Are there talks of extending him?

There have been no talks, apparently, and the last thing that I saw reported was the club was open to him staying into next season, which would be ridiculous.

Do you guys think anything happens with Auba this summer? Or will this year be seen as a one-off and hope he is back to his normal self next season?

Any idea on the Odegaard situation? He would be a great signing if you could make him permanent but everything I have seen says it depends if Zidane is at Real or not?

I don’t foresee Auba going anywhere, and (hopefully) this season being a one-off deal.

As for Ødegaard, last I heard he wants to be here, likely just due to playing time. Now, that may change with no European football—who knows. I hope we can hang on to him, at least maybe for another season on loan..

I think Auba, like a lot of the squad is in poor form. What doesn't help is putting him on the left and having him track back making challenges deep in our own half. That's ridiculous.

As for Ødegaarrd, a few pages ago I said it but I don't think we keep him. He's either back at Madrid or he goes somewhere that wants him and is playing in the CL and challenging within their league.

Remember how Auba was unexpectedly out for illness recently and some morons were speculating that it was a lie, or that he’d fallen out with Arteta?

                  He had malaria.

                  So sick of conspiracy nonsense.

It's crazy that we're three games away from CL qualification. It doesn't feel like we should be that close, but we are. I don't think we can put together two performances that are good enough to get to the final, but if we do, we're one game away from drastically altering the path of the club.

Comparing how another season without the CL or European competition could go vs being in the CL...very, very different.

The real clutch moment will be seeing how much another English club is willing to pay for him this Summer.

                              This is interesting...

Reaching the Europa League final this year would be massive in terms of finances. Last season the club received £19m in broadcast revenue from the Europa League compared to £35m the season before when reaching the final. We're surely already above £19m for this year, but at this point it's all needed for any kind of squad investment.

                                Interesting indeed.

Curious to see what yesterday’s “demonstrations” achieved regarding ambition from the board.

                                My guess is nothing.
