It feels like it, too. If we make it through, it'll be even bigger, but so much of the future is wrapped up within this match.

My schedule allows me to head home early to sit and watch it. Why I want to torture myself like that, I'm not sure.

What's the nervous level at here today? This match plus the final of course either boost the rebuild ahead two years or is a big blow to Arteta's time there.

Xhaka ended up being replaced by Tierney, so some relief seems in order, hopefully Tierney stays healthy.

If Arteta is sacked tomorrow, or at the end of the season, I wouldn’t be bothered. He won’t be, though.

I want him to be the man. So badly, I do.

But man—this just isn’t working is it?

I didn’t watch today, but think I saw we had ONE shot on target? When you have the attacking pieces we have, that is inexcusable.

We’ve changed the squad. We’ve changed the manager.

                    Nothing is working.

To expand, it’s about more than Arteta as the squad simply is not good enough (although good enough to win that match last night), and the club ownership is absent and has left a void of footballing knowledge at the top.

Arseblog pointed outs something interesting this morning—we moved on from one man having all the power and have now basically undid that with what they’ve done with Arteta’s position where our Technical Director essentially works for him.

Where it comes down to Arteta for me, and it’s inexcusable, is his team selections and that includes who he wanted at the club but seemingly doesn’t know how to use, or want to use.

He wanted Cedric and apparently also Gabriel. Their absences, to me, speak volumes. He played Xhaka at LB repeatedly after wanting the “versatile” Cedric at the club. Insanity.

He rammed Willian into the squad each week and now still brings him on to try and save games.

He froze out Saliba (and Edu ****ed up getting him on loan in the Fall)—who knows if he has a future at the club.

If he’s going to work out at Arsenal, I think he needs to go back to being a coach first and not a manager, but that train left the station.

The squad needs improvements...but do you leave it up to the guy who got players he wanted and then decided to not use them?

Oh, stop playing Partey as literally a one man midfield causing everyone to slag him off as he tries to play by himself, in midfield, in a 2021 European semifinal.

                      We’re ****ed.

There's a digital Arsenal Supporter's Trust meeting in an hour where they plan to discuss amongst other things, their conversations with Daniel Ek, and the legends who have backed his most likely yet to be made bid.

Considering last night, it should be interesting—looking forward to it.

I saw somewhere that he was promoted from head coach to manager after last year. I wasn’t quite sure what that meant tbh. I’m assuming “manager” has more say in transfers?

Yeah, they basically gave him far more say in recruitment, and essentially instead of working under Edu, they seem to instead be a pairing. This was the quote by Vinai, Chief Executive:

"So in terms of how that will work, going forward Mikel will join a really strong team with Edu and they'll be working really, really closely together to manage all the other elements of our football operations that are so important, whether that is analysis, recruitment, high performance or medical, they'll be looking after those areas together."

Basically, he has a lot more control in how the club runs day to day instead of just working on the training ground.

Arteta wanted Gabriel, and doesn't use him. Arteta wanted Cedric, and doesn't use him. Arteta wanted Willian, and doesn't use him. That's just tranfers, not how he's utilized the squad poorly (Auba as a winger who tracks back deep into our defensive third).
