I hope he starts if he arrives late Saturday night. But seriously, hoping they’re working very quickly.

£34m for Ødegaard—nice. Now, get a goalkeeper, a striker, a right back, a central midfielder, and figure out how not to pass the ball in a horseshoe pattern all match.

Keeper seems done—Ramsdale for £24m + £6m in add-ons. Basically what Arsenal was always willing to pay and not the absurd 'we're trying to get back our Brewster' money that Sheffield United wanted.

I think he'll replace Leno before the season is up, as Leno will move in the Winter or Summer window.

Arsenal have now spent over £210m since Arteta arrived with selling less than £50m. Have to say the board has at least backed him better than expected during a pandemic.

Taking out easy to repay loans at amazing rates help. The ownership isn't pushing money into the club.

Absolute best part about our transfers this season has been the ages.

              Tavares, 21
              Lokonga, 21
              White, 23
              Ramsdale, 23
              Ødegaard, 22

              Finally.

There has been some expected, but still surprisingly moronic comments from pundits/journalists regarding the Ramsdale transfer. Mostly moronic due to their complete lack of knowledge surrounding the situation, such as Arsenal trying to find a homegrown keeper, Leno having zero interest in signing a new contract, Leno's form being poor, Leno being poor in the air coming off his line, the list goes on.

I'm glad we've signed an actual second keeper, and I'm glad that he's 23. I think he'll be starting before the end of the season, and I think he'll make some people look a little foolish. It's not easy to find a solid keeper right now, who is homegrown, who wants to come to the club. It could've been much, much worse.

Ramsdale could improve for sure, he's young and will be playing with better defenders than before. But his stats last year did not show a keeper that is ready to take over a team fighting for top 4.

Maybe with a better defense in front of him he can surprise some people.

But we’re not fighting for top four. Seriously.

I’m not joking. Even if you look at the transfers, to me, this is a team fighting for top four in 2-3 seasons. It can not be said enough how poorly the squad has been built, with zero plan.

I’ve said it before, non-Arsenal supporters keep being surprised at how bad Arsenal are. I get it, everyone knows we’re **** and somehow grabbed a trophy, but we’re really bad right now.

Back to the transfers, at least there’s finally a plan of sorts. It may not work, but it’s better than whatever we were doing the last several years.

But we’re not fighting for top four. We’re fighting for sixth at best and fighting to not fall even further behind. We don’t even have sellable assets compared to a club like Spurs.

Don’t get me wrong, I completely know how bad Arsenal is. It’s the only saving grace I have had in recent years to take attention away from how bad Spurs are. But the point is a club like Arsenal should not be “settling” for bringing in players who are not top four worthy.

It’s just really strange to see Arsenal bringing in players like Ramsdale or Lokonga. People are used to Arsenal bringing in big names and in a “win now” mode instead of building.

I’m not saying Arsenal are doing it wrong. It’s just not something people are used to.

We tried win now—it didn’t work under Emery. Plus, the only way to get those players now with the state of the club is massive wages, which then makes them impossible to move on.

The first year under Emery was a clear “let’s get back into the top four now” approach. Not only did it not work, it hampered the squad for years and will take years to fix.

I’m not convinced Edu + Arteta are the ones to fix it, but it’s nice seeing a plan of sorts (young players).

                            Also, Ødegaard!!!!!

The highest Arsenal will pay for Ødegaard is £34.2m. That's good business.

I thought the Odegard and Lokonga buys were good business. Both fill roles, help you get younger with Odegard having experience already at Arsenal.

I didn't get the Ben White deal. I'm not saying he's a bad player but I didn't think CB was your need considering you already had the 6th best defense in the PL last year with some question marks like Luiz and Xhaka at LB.

I guess Ramsdale could come good by the end of the season and take over for Leno who IMO has always been suspect but I don't like the HG aspect Arsenal fans try to make. If you just wanted a HG player then you go out and get a crap #3 keeper who happens to be English. Then again if he does turn out to be good, and I saw people who rated him more than Henderson, then that's a moot point.

To be fair though, rating transfers before they even get matches under their belt is unfair.

All Chelsea bias aside, I hope Laca and PEA are OK with their COVID. When they didn't make the team vs Brentford all the speculation ran rampant. I hope they have a speedy recovery even if that means they face my Blues this Sunday.
