You have to play to his strengths and he excels with a little freedom at the back he had that at Brighton and Leeds the past two seasons when he played in a back 3.

I'd rather see Sambi start in midfeld with Partey. I love his confident casualnes on the ball and when passing. He makes things that should be easy for a midfielder look easy—as he should. He moves the ball quickly and to areas where something can happen.

I'd then push Ødegaard back up front, with ESR on the left, Saka on the right. Sorry, Pepe, but our best performances came with you on the bench.

Wanna know something not surprising if you watch the team, but surprising to see as a stat? We're tied with Norwich for teams who press the least in the league, using PPDA (passes per defensive action) as a measurement. Other teams close to us? Watford and Burnley.

So sad, but we really do not press under Arteta and it's just...sad.

Curious where Man City rank on the list?

7 goals scored in 8 matches is very concerning.

Fourth, behind Leeds, Liverpool, and Brighton. Honestly, if Arsenal want to build a product, sack Arteta and go hire Potter.

I'd reconsider my hatred of Kroenke if that happened.

The best Arsenal performance I have seen in a while especially that first half but definitely could have had more goals as well. Tavares passing was sublime really impressed by this kid tonight and I didn't expect Arteta to drop Odegaard but it seemed for the best, surely he will get a start against Leeds but he didn't look like he was missed at all to be honest.

Tavares: Woo, he's really something. Sprinted his *** off the entire match, and yes, some of his passes were fantastic. Glad to finally have young depth in that position. Seems promising.

Ødegaard: I think he definitely needed a rest but I think using him deep will only continue to make him seem not as vital.

Really, what's nice is that we have some, small aspect of depth for once, which is nice.

I think one day Eddie might score from inside the goal.

I got around to watching the Nice & Marseille game and Saliba is really emerging this season. He is not going to ground as quickly for tackles and looks very calm on the ball with solid passing. Of course you also have this possible goal saving tackle on Mbappe last Sunday.

                        Spoiler

Needless to say I really do hope we see him back at Arsenal next year and him actually getting game time because I really think this kid's ceiling is even higher than Ben White's and Gabriel. Even thinking further about it that Arsenal can trout Kolasinac out there to play but Saliba can't even get some EFL and possible early FA Cup matches, I just don't understand it.

Apparently Edu just went to watch him and Arteta said he thinks there's room for him next season. I think he'll be here next season and we'll move out one or two of Holding, Chambers, and Mari.

My prediction: New contract announced late this season or this Summer, and he's with the squad next season.

And I don’t have access to NBCSN this morning so I’ll watch on a delay and ponder even longer how poorly it goes.
