You guys are lucky that Honduras aren't clinical enough in the final third. How many counter attacks have they had in the last few minutes where they had the numbers on the break? This could be 2 or 3.

The US is playing like they are up 3 pretty much the whole game. This has simply been embarrassing

Just one goal...that's all we really need.
Is it too soon to say I miss Jurgen? Lol
And there it is!

The Honduras trip is the worst. Got out with a result at least.Comment

We should have lost but I'll take a tie. Now let's take care of Panama at home then see what we need against T&T on the road.

Honduras away is one of the worst games in CONCACAF qualifying, and yet despite taking a point from both Mexico and Honduras away, you can argue Arena already deserves the sack.
We look atrocious and we keep calling up these below average MLS players. Arena's only goal at this point is to just get to the world cup, and see what happens when we get there. The problem is, we will get there and get booted immediately, and have nothing to show for it.
We had the opportunity to blood in some of our quality youngsters (it's not like Pulisic is the ONLY one), and give them some actual world cup experience. Instead we are going to be taking freaking Zusi and Dax Mcarty to the damn world cup, along with our 90 year old keepers, and we will get booted out all the same.
I'd rather get tossed out of the world cup while giving some of these young guys actual minutes and possibly playing some slightly more exciting soccer than the inevitable group stage exit while playing like crap and fielding Omar Gonzalez as a starting CB.
Super disappointing, this was always what Arena was going to do.Comment

Honduras is what 75 in FIFA ranking? I would imagine they play about half their games at home. So somebody is beating them. A 1-1 draw against a team like that in a fairly important game just flat out sucks.Comment

Poland is #5 in those same rankings right now.

And yeah those fifa rankings are trash anyway. Poland and Switzerland at 5th and 7th, Slovakia ahead of Croatia. Even France ahead of Chile is a joke considering Chile has been actively winning trophies and going further/as far as France in the WC.Comment

Luckily, a few of the MLS guys were among the best tonight. Morris and Acosta were pretty solid for the most part, and it was nice to see Acosta not afraid to mix it up a little with the Honduras players. The U.S. lack toughness, and it was nice to see him fight back a little. Morris never stops and definitely deserves his spot. Arriola was good off the bench too.
But I get your point on guys like McCarty and Zusi. Zusi looked pretty blah tonight. I really hope Yedlin is back for the last two qualifiers. He's a definite at Right Back. Left Back and Center Back are a total cluster though, with Besler sadly looking the best. I do think the Costa Rica game lit a fire in Cameron, and he'll be good again moving forward.
Pulisic needs to toughen up a little, but he proved tonight he's okay with that. He'll get there, but he needs a little help a lot of times.
That's all I have. I'll take a 1-1 draw after that one.

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
I'm a fan of Acosta and I've always liked Morris, I was more referring to guys like Zusi, Jones, Mcarty, Wondo, Beasley (even if I love him), etc.
Also, Chandler is an option even though I've not been a fan in the past. He's doing very well in the Buli apparently and from what I've heard Arena doesn't call him up purely for personal reasons.
The entire Arena situation just seems like cronieism to me. I'm just disappointed that we aren't taking immediate advantage of the foundations Jurgen laid for us. Arena was a step backwards.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Glad someone else said this. I was not happy was Jurgen was fired, especially when we found out his replacement. Unfortunalty, often times coaches don't the time they deserve. And there is always political and behind the scenes BS that gets in the way.Comment
