We had an incredible run with scouting KDB and Thibo at Genk, Lukaku (although at 13 he already was a man-child), etc...

As far as I’m aware, his duties were identifying transfer targets and helping with youth development. Then he got blamed for everything else transfer related when things didn’t go well.

Definitely interesting to see where we go from here

Yeah he was definitely the scapegoat this summer when our dealings dragged in forever.

I read he’s going to Monaco as if they need any more help in identifying young talents.

His “resignation” brought mixed feelings. He made some mistakes but also did a hell of a job at same time.

Pretty shocked tho considering he was at the game against United.

Not sure about the Monaco rumor, but we reported he finished his UEFA Pro License this summer.

I’d say he’s going into management, that’s a high level coaching license, far beyond just “getting some badges done”.

I have seen rumors about Frank Lampard being a candidate for technical director.

I love Super Frank but not sure I would be for that.

I agree, feel like it is too heavily scrutinized of a position. I don't want people to end up hating Frank.

Honestly the most RLC plays at the senior level the more we look like an absolute clown college.

4-3-3 with Kante/Drinkwater - Baka - RLC/Cesc. Would also give us better depth at CB and it's a formation that gets the most out of Pedro. All we'd have needed to get over summer is one more actual fullback, which we needed anyway, and we'd be good to go.

It's such a no-brainer, I hate how dumb we are sometimes.

Can we recall him in January?

Not sure, I doubt we would even if we could though. Not to mention, Conte has only played with a 3-man midfield 3 times this season so it probably wouldn't be worth taking more senior level playing time away from Ruben.

If there is a loan fee involved, which I'm sure there is, I'm fairly certain you can't recall them in the January window.

EDIT: Actually looked this up. If there is a recall clause on a season long loan involving a fee, both clubs actually have to agree to the recall. Unlikely Palace would want to do that.

Better than I thought he’d be tbh. He is a pretty smart player and his hold up play was better than just about anything we’ve seen from Michy this season. He and Ruben linked up well a few times, probably could have done better with a few chances but I’d say maybe a 7/10 for the match.

Definitely get a different feeling about him vs like Bamford, you can see there is genuine quality there. Excited to see how he developes, both Ruben and Tammy could play legitimate roles in the team next season.
