Disappointing result today. I thought this was a win until Morata went down. After that, Chelsea never looked threatening again. I have no idea how Conte thought giving Hazard about 50 minutes up front was going to work. Why not put Bats right in when Morata left?

Conte’s subs are normally great, but I agree that was a poor decision not to go with Bats right away.

Yeah that was very odd considering we literally had no outlet and were forced to just concede possession.

We looked very leggy to me but I can't deny that we were 2nd best.

I'm just glad that Eden didn't get hurt playing on that terrible pitch.

Now it’s time to see what our other midfielders are made of I guess.

              Is Drinkwater available yet?

                Back in business tomorrow fellas!

No Kante, Morata, and Drinkwater which means young Ampadu will probably travel with the squad. Good thing Bakayoko and Cesc weren't called up so they should be well rested.

Michy should slot in up top and I'm thinking Eden and either Pedro/William will feature on the other side with one of them coming off for the other since they both were called up for the last group of WCQ's.

I can't remember for sure but I think Luiz comes back after his suspension.

Then right after Palace it's Roma at home. That last minute winner vs Atletico takes the pressure off us needing 3 points for this so a draw will do BUT 3pts would almost certainly see us through given another 3 pts in the return game against Qoeifjenaburg

I think we likely see Luiz in midfield, which is fine because it means Christensen gets more minutes.

A bit bummed Drinkwater isn't back yet but theoretically we shouldn't NEED him vs Palace.

Of course we all know Chelsea will be the first team to concede to Palace this season.

Not only concede but give them the full 3 points. Batman tears about Championship teams and scores off the bench but coming on as starter... ghosting alone for most part.

Disappointing play, wanted to write more but all I’m gonna say is this game has a very strange similar feeling to a certain Crystal Palace game in 2015.

Once I saw Zaha returning I knew we were going to be in for a fight. Add to that the 2 weeks to prepare for us and some tired legs for some key players meant a huge trap game but still no excuse for that 1st half. Eden was mostly ghost, Willian eh, and Michy poor. I think Conte pulling him though was mostly to keep him fresh for Roma on Wednesday.

This hamstring bug is for real.

Saw somebody say that we are watching Willian’s “Ivanovic” moment happen right now. Makes me sad but I can kind of see it. The things he was always good at just aren’t happening for him, his contribution is way down and even his speed isn’t nearly as punishing as it used to be.

With Pedro already over 30 and Willian about to be, we need to start thinking about our future. Maybe it’s our plan to go forward with a 3-5-2, but even in that case we Probably need better rotation options than what we currently have. The drop off in quality after Hazard and Morata is pretty big, far too big for a club with CL aspirations.

Watching Willan is troubling indeed... I figured still get a few more good seasons out of him. That or the continued reunion with Mo is getting to him.

Antonio Conte's reign as Chelsea manager looks increasingly likely to end with the Italian being sacked before he's seen out his second season at the English Premier League club.

Uuuggggggghhhhhhhhh. Only solace we can take here is that it’s Duncan Castles, but for some reason the only things he has gotten right about Chelsea were all internal stuff so still possibly worrying.

Maybe that’s why Carlo was at the game.

I don’t get Chelsea and it’s players. Mourinho and Conte bring a title and then get fired?

Clearly, the problem is not the manager.

To be fair, Jose is a bit of a different situation. We were in the relegation zone, and on relegation form and he wasn’t changing anything. There are way worse examples to choose from, like Carlo.

Also, as annoying as it is, hiring and firing has clearly worked for us so far.
