Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Sounds like Raphinha’s agent boned this Barca deal up big time, I don’t think Raphinha ever wanted anything but Barca.
Also can someone please talk to my dumb brain and remind me that Neymar would be a bad signing? Cause right now my brain is going “ahahahaha YEAH BOI LETS DO IIIITTTTTTT” lmaoComment

IF Frenkie refuses to join United they're not going to have enough money to even register the free guys. Leeds want to honor the deal and I doubt they want to leave a guaranteed 60mil on the table for Barca's "we'll give you 10 today, 5 next year and so on...". Worst case we'll get Sterling and one of Dembele/Raphina OR
Neymar and one of Dembele/Raphina lol.
Brahv, that's just the OLD Roman Chelsea in you although if PSG does supplement most of his salary...sign his a** up LOL.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Once again gazumped by Barca lol.
I can't say anything bad about Kounde. We were linked to him and supposedly agreed on personal terms with him for over a year and we drug it out, flirted with other CBs, and then decided to go with the club that made him feel welcome. No shade whatsoever at Kounde and I hope he works out.
It was never going to be a smooth window for a new owner taking over a club with huge holes. No real time to setup the structure and plan. Oh well, we aren't the first club to have this happen. One of our biggest challenges is obviously the attacking band but tbh, there aren't that many quality one's out there. The success or failure next year will hinge on whether or not Kai, Pulisic, CHO, Broja, Gallagher, and even Mount will take that next step. With Ziyech on the market for cheap and Timo rumored with Leipzig & Juve, there's going to be minutes. That's part of the reason why I didn't understand why Broja was even entertaining West Ham. Share minutes with Antonio/Europa League when you could get minutes here across all comps, including the Prem with 5 subs allowed this year.
Even though Arsenal thrashed us in Orlando, I'm looking forward to Everton, if anything, only as a break from transfer BS.Comment

Tbh I’d argue Mount is exempt from that group. He’s arguably our best player and improves noticeably every season.
Definitely interested to see what Broja can do though.Comment

Also I’d love to see more Broja, he looked pretty decent today with almost zero service and no actual attacking planComment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Well that all happened pretty fast, seems like the new ownership probably had a plan for a while now, which I’ve been told is pretty par for the course for them.
Potter’s stock is very high atm so kind of excited to see what he can do, Brighton plays better football than we do lmao.
Little bit sad how Tuchel is being treated though, he was phenomenal for us overall. I get that he’s incredibly hard to work with and has fallen out with literally every club he’s coached, but I still think he deserves a bit more respect for what he’s done here.Comment

I'm excited about Potter and I hope fans give him their full backing with ownership giving him some time.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Chelsea fans, should I put money down now on you guys winning any sort of trophy this year? Heck, even just making the final!
Since firing a manager and winning a trophy that same season seems to be your thing and all. I might as well make some money off it.Comment

We aren’t winning the league but you can put me down for another CL trophyComment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Sucks that we don’t play until October but at least then it helps that we got an entire ~10 days of training with the first squad before they went off for international call-ups. There were some encouraging signs vs Salzburg tactically, just the players, per usual, fell apart in the final third.
Boehly is really looking to get that Red Bull/Man City model with him sniffing around Santos and the Salzburg guys.
