Yeah I almost feel bad for Puli. He gets a lot of hate from Chelsea fans and some is justified due to the injuries but dude has played RWB (very well today I might add), ST, and on the wing for us.
Anyway, a pretty decent showing today. Only gave up that fluke own goal.
Just sucks to see Trevor, Kante, and Thiago go off hurt.

Now that Chillwell has elected for surgery (a smart move IMO for his long term prospects) that puts us in the market for a temporary fix at LWB.
Do we bring in Digne on loan?
Recall Emerson or Maatsen?

Yeah he'd be the one option apart from an Emerson recall who would probably help immediately although Emerson just wants to play. His (Digne) defensive liabilities would be covered a lil by our system and protection around him. What's worrisome though is how his form has dropped after all his injuries. I guess there's his beef with Rafa too but I think he might just need a change of scenery. It would be even sweeter if we could send Barkley back the other way lol.Comment

Yeah, Rudi wants big wages… ~300k a week reportedly which takes him out of the running for Bayern who also want him. I think him and Azpi want to stay but it’s a matter of the board wanting to open up the wage floodgates for Rudi and playing time/role when it comes to Azpi. I’m sure going back to Spain is appealing too for Azpi but like Brahv said, we love Dave here even though he’s rapidly declining.
Christensen is also out of contract too. Same with Thiago but it’s assumed that both are likely to sign new deals. That’s why we’ve been so heavily linked with Kounde but thankfully we have some really good young CBs in Chalobah, Levi Colwill (on loan at Huddersfield), Xavier Mbuyamba, and guys like Sarr and Ampadu who are a lil older but still developing. We also have buy back options on Guehi (Palace) and Livramento (Soto) so there are options but still more risk than Rudiger who’s probably been the best CB in the league since Tuchel took over.
