Little dicey at times but a great game overall. We are still wasteful in front of goal but we just score anyway eventually.

Leeds is a pretty tough game just cause they are so reckless on offense. I think we did well.

Read today that we're the first team to run more than Leeds in a H2H matchup with them. Apart from a few moments we held them in check which speaks volumes for how far our defense has come.

With the UCL group wrapped up we should see CHO, Billy, Tammy, and a few more kids.

      Good times!

The other stats back it up/add context!

They pressed below their average, essentially allowing three more passes before initiating a press, which seems massive, and Chelsea pressed above their average.

I don't think it was completely a case of Leeds altering their plan, but instead Chelsea not allowing them to execute it as they'd like to.

I just now saw this on a SkySports video and had to screen cap it because, damn, I was really surprised by this. Just genuinely interested to see how long they give Lampard. My assumption? They won't give him as long as they should, or he'd need. Should is odd, because if there are better options, we all know they won't be afraid to take one.

Yeah that was circulated around the Chelsea boards a few weeks back. While the #’s are true the context is highly misleading when you compare squad strengths. Some of those guys had legit 4-5 World Class players. Apart from Kante you can’t find one on Chelsea since Eden left. Not too mention the transfer ban, the squad he was handed, and the strength of the league being crazy due to the pace City & Liverpool have set plus the cluster**ck that is this year with COVID.

It’s sounds like a lot of excuses and Lampard isn’t without blame but those #’s when put into context are around what they should be.

Also form is just bad right now.

I mean look at Arteta, Arsenal is on a very brief good patch of form and already people are saying to give Arteta time, as if Arsenals atrocious play the rest of the time is now invalidated.

We’ve been pretty good overall under Lampard, he’s probably earned the right to at least see out the season, though I realize that might not happen.

Just for the record, not I—there was enough stubborn nonsense to leave me skeptical for the remainder of the season, at least.

I think he should, but I don't think he will. I also think if he is given until the end of the season, he could very well be sacked regardless for someone at the level of Tuchel or Allegri. That would feel like a ruthless, but smart Chelsea-type decision.

In the video where those numbers were shown, Carragher made a really great, interesting point regarding players of his generation going into management. He essentially said "I look at Klopp on the touchline at Anfield pumping his fist and I want to be him. I want to do that! But the problem is what I don't want to does spend seven years at Mainz."

Essentially, it was a great point about how the ease of some former players being given positions is part of the issue, but not really fault of them for accepting. Of course Lampard would accept the Chelsea job, Henry the Arsenal job, etc. The fault lies at everyone thinking they'll have repeated the Pep formula, when in reality nobody has.

Which brings me to what I find intriguing—if Lampard is sacked now or at the end of the season, where does that leave him? Is he willing to go back to a Championship side? I doubt another Premier League side would give him a job (I wonder the exact same about Arteta, for the record).

I personally don’t think Allegri or Tuchel is that much of an upgrade over Lampard. Sure they have more experience and have won honors elsewhere but with the squads they had in Turin and Paris we could have won a league (partly joking).

Really interesting point about where Lamps and Arteta would go after failing in such high visibility jobs. I’d imagine Lampard would swallow his pride and go to the championship considering he nearly had Derby up 2 years ago. I could see Arteta being attractive to clubs like Valencia, Villarreal, etc... considering his roots.

Neither one of ‘em would be short of options. It would just depend on how soon they want to step back into the fire.

I can’t even fathom how stressful a job managing football is.

If we sack Lampard I will be disappointed in anyone we hire who isn't Hasenhuttl. That is the kind of manager you build with, if you want a Klopp-like appointment then he would be it.

Allegri/Tuchel would both be gone within 3 years guaranteed, with Tuchel probably leaving on bad terms, and we would be right back to when we sacked Sarri.

I do think there is more of a chance we let Lampard see out the season than people think, as Roman has been quite different the last number of years.

Chelsea legend Lucas Piazon has left the club for SC Braga nearly 10 years of service and 3 appearances.

Who now is the current longest serving player at Chelsea? Is it Azpilicueta or another of your loan army?

                              My guess is Victor Moses.

Does Jamal Blackman still count? In the first team since 2012, academy since 2006, though if academy years count, then RLC has been there since 2004.
