Yeah, next week Brahv, can you talk about upgrading Mount please?

So Frank really got that all wrong imo.

3-4-3 was not the right choice vs a team playing that defensively, and also Jorginho and Kanté doesn’t really work. Needed to have a 3-man midfield.

I think Mount/Kova/Kanté might be our best midfield setup, although if RLC can come back to full fitness I’d replace Mount since RLC offers an offensive threat none of our center mids can.

Agreed. Way too defensive for Soto at home. Also, CHO shouldn’t have been starting. He’s been pretty blah since coming back although it’s to be expected. That’s why I’m not putting any expectations on RLC this year. Play the long-term game with him, he’s worth playing it safe.

Yeah I agree with that midfield too although Mount gives you the best of both attack and work rate (2nd to Kante in this of course). Playing Mount our wide is a waste. He’s not athletic enough and unless you’re going to play Alonso at LWB, he’s going to come inside and there won’t be any overlap.

Just beat Arsenal and we can forget about this one and everyone can enjoy beating Spurs and Arsenal in a matter of days.

            Smash and grab!

In all seriousness though, props to Lampard for knowing he got it wrong and not hesitating to make a change early in the match. Sure Jorginho should have been sent off but he steadied the ship and if it wasn't for the poor quality of Kante, Kova, Rudi, etc... on the ball we would have had more bite going forward.

Got Spurs & Arsenal in one week!

Tbf, if Guendouzi gets sent off when he should have then the whole Jorginho thing isn’t a talking point at all.

Also was I the only one that didn’t know Pulisic was injured?

                Rare pop-in from me.

He should’ve been off, but in general there were so many constant fouls from both sides the entire match, and it was clear at no point would there be consistency or control of the match from the referee.

What it really showed to me was players being too damn tired to play. There were so many pull backs and fouls to stop play that it seemed like everyone was already affected by the fixture congestion.

And nearly everyone plays again on Wednesday.

Agreed Kreb. The Holiday fixture schedule makes no sense and doesn't protect the players at all. Sure it's great for fans but at what point do they need to realize that's detrimental to the product. It brings in loads of cash so I'm sure it won't change.

Lampard said it was just precautionary because he had picked up a knock previously.

I think he is probably fine now but Lampard didn't want to risk him since he was our most in-form winger and we were headed into the worst part of the season.

It's actually one of the big reasons the premier league was able to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. Only big league in Europe that had games over the holiday season, resulted in their tv packages being increased and then the overall popularity increasing as well.

Obviously good branding and promotion helped as well, but the tv deals and holiday games played/currently play a pretty big role.

Someone call the police because Reese James got robbed... Robbed of several assists.

I mean come on Michy, you gotta put at least one of those crosses in. Giroud would be on a hat trick there.

Also boys I love CHO but I feel half a season loan in Championship would do him wonders.

Reese James has that sauce, he’s going to be incredible honestly.

Also I’d agree about CHO but if he keeps getting his confidence back he won’t need a loan tbh. Willian is having a fantastic season but Pulisic and CHO should still be able to take a spot from him, especially as Lampard seems to finally be accepting that Mount can’t play on the wings.

I am interested to see more of Mount in that RLC role playing with Pulisic as the LW, they weren’t always on the same page but it seems like something Lampard is trying to slowly implement and the times they were on the same page it was very dangerous.

Disagree about CHO going out on loan, especially to a Championship side. Forrest is a promotion chasing side and he had his way with them. There’s nothing he can really gain by going against them on crappy pitches. It would probably hurt his mental confidence too. He just needs time. His injury was serious and IMO he came back too soon and expectations for him should have been that this a throw away year for him to get back to full fitness.

                                Gabigol rumors?

Yes please, even if it’s just a loan.
