Benteke is also much better with his back to goal holding the play up, something Big Rom struggles at. To be fair though, a lot of young STs struggle with that early in their game. Looks like we agreed to a 20 mil fee for Felipe Luis. Personally I thought he was the best LB in the world last year and it was crazy to see him not make Brazil's squad for the WC.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Our team is shaping up phenomenally for this season, getting pretty excited.
Also I've not seen any actual real evidence that we are selling Lukaku. Since the end of last season there has been really nothing but media assumptions and intentional miss translations of answers to dumb questions.
The fact of the matter is he'd be a great number 2 striker, is free because we already own him, and is young enough that he can be easily molded by Jose into whatever Jose needs him to be.
Keep in mind this guy grew up a Chelsea fan, he's not like Hazard who has publicly stated it is his dream to play for another club, this IS Lukaku's dream club. I'd be surprised if he didn't do everything he could to remain here. I don't even think his attitude is as bad as everybody thinks. Most of the comments "he" has made that would suggest such an attitude were actually made by his agent or family members just talking out of their butts to reporters.
I think he will probably be here this season.Comment

I really hope we can sign Pogba. With Conte resigning from Juventus, it seems as possible as ever.
And just to inform you guys, if you didn't know Bamford signed an extension today. I'm pretty sure it was 3 years. Perhaps Jose is preparing to have him in the team this season?

I'm uncertain. At this point, I've just faced reality and I've prepared to start next season without him. His WC performances and his attitude will be just enough to see his way out.

His WC performances were on par with the rest of the under-performing Belgian attack. Hell, in those 30 mins against the US he looked more dangerous than Eden did for the majority of the torney.
They're looking for a low EPL side loan, maybe someone like West Brom for Bamford.

I have a feeling that Bamford will go to QPR on loan.Boston Celtics

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Rom's world cup performances mean nothing next to his two very solid years in the actual league our team plays in. Technically, he actually had a better world cup than the striker we just paid 32 million for. The entire Belgian squad sucked complete balls, not to mention Lukaku had the misfortune of spending most of his time on the pitch playing with Mertens, who is honestly one of the most selfish players I've seen in a while.
As for the attitude, like I said, I haven't seen any actual proof he has a bad attitude, like ever. Always just rumors.Comment

I'm not sure if it's official but I saw a report today that Juventus came to an agreement with Real Madrid for Morata. If that's true, I think that'll put Lukaku to Juventus rumors to rest.

This Lukaku debacle is starting to get confusing and nerve-racking. I keep seeing that he may go to Everton on a permanent deal on the next 48 hours, then I'm seeing articles/reports saying that he is staying at Chelsea and will rival Costa for the starting spot. Ughhhh.
In other news, Mourinho said that our transfer window is over. It was fun while it lasted. I hope they still go after Pogba, though.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
We paid 18m for Lukaku and the number being thrown around is 23m, which is kind of low for a player that young who has scored that many goals.
We have zero reasons to sell him and plenty of reasons to keep him. He'd be a fantastic 2nd striker and, being a huge fan of the club, I would think that this would be ok with him. He's never actually said he deserves to be the uncontested starter for Chelsea, just that he wants the chance to fight for a place.
I still expect to see him in Chelsea blue this season.Comment
