Reece James is the real deal, he could genuinely take Dave's spot by the end of the season if that injury doesn't hold him back.

      Oooh that’s tough

I’d say we need Reece more than CHO at this stage. Unless Dave is sending in early crosses he’s a huge liability going forward. He’s been caught out a few times getting way too forward although it’s probably by instruction.

We’re so left-sided attack dominant so having a guy who’s as comfortable on the ball as Reece is will give us some balance.

I just hope we’re not rushing these guys back.

        Dave's crossing is really limited.

Someone on reddit posted a clip the other day of a nice attacking sequence we had, but it ended with Dave putting in an awful cross and killing the whole play since Leicester cleared it out very easily.

He's great when he is putting in crosses like the ones he kept assisting Morata last season, but that's about it.

I agree KG, I think being overly reliant on our left side is going to make us very predictable and one-dimensional.

Tbf that finish was far better than the cross, but yeah of course he puts in his first good cross since like last December right after I called out his poor crossing.

Good to get into the win column.

Great that all of our immediate competition lost too.

I've been catching up with the Championship matches/highlights on DAZN today.

Your young lad Conor Gallagher has really hit the ground running at Charlton. 3 goals in 4 games including the winner last weekend against Brentford.

Yeah him and Billy Gilmore are pretty promising and should be knocking on the door of fringe/PL type loans next year.

I mean, if we’re going to get a transfer ban for youth related issues in signing players they might as well be good right?

Not really an ideal group but I do think it's doable.

Trial by fire for a lot of the kids as well, I'm still excited to see how we do.

I don’t think our group is strong at all.

Lille lost their best player and are in the UCL for the first time since Eden was there. I mean they just spent ~25 mil on Renato Sanchez and he sucks. Bamba isn’t bad but ppl overlook the fact that they have a lot of young kids too.

Valencia is ok but they don’t have the depth to compete in La Liga and the UCL like they used to.

Ajax isn’t nearly as good as they were last year and they could still lose Van den Beek and/or Neres, even possibly Ziyech. They didn’t look very good vs APOEL either.

Yeah we have a lot of young kids but our core is all experienced UCL & Internationals. There’s about 3 players that could probably threaten to break into our 11, Rodri and Gaya from Valencia and Van den Beek from Ajax.

Even with our defensive issues at the moment, we should walk this group.

Right here guys. If anything goes bad, we can place the blame squarely on this comment.

Well done KG, we were going to win the whole thing before you said that.

You know what’s funny..... I love this season because I have no real expectations but yet once I saw the draw, I immediately had expectations.

Lmao that’s me every week so far.

Before the weekend: “lets just have fun this season, no expectations, this is great”

Game starts: “HOW ARE WE NOT PUTTING THESE CHANCES AWAY???”

Game ends: “our defense is ATROCIOUS, we’re not winning anything like this”

                              Rinse and repeat.
