Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
I’ve been super critical of Poch at times this year (deservingly so lol) but credit to him. Since getting destroyed by Arsenal and then falling behind 2-0 at Villa Park we’ve been very good. Getting players back certainly helps but there were a few games in there where it was barebones and we played well. 2-1 flattered Brighton today.
Very important that we go into the offseason with good vibes.

There were definitely times this season that I would not have believed that Chelsea would qualify for Europe. I'll take it.

This is a stat. Chelsea will be hiring their 22nd manager since September 2000. Liverpool just hired their 22nd manager in club history.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Not fussed one bit about Poch's departure. A 5 game win streak and possibly Europa League doesn't make up for the largely disappointing season where we sat in the bottom half of the table for more than 80% of the year. Yeah we've been 4th in the form table for 2024 but unfortunately there were a lot of games before 2024 where his decisions ultimately cost us a VERY attainable 4th place finish. The underlying metrics for us are all over the place which points to an unstable system. Top 2 in touches inside our own 3rd but right in the middle in terms of successful buildups. Top 4 in terms of forcing turnovers high up the pitch but 9th in shots generated from those and 14th in actual goals.
It's been quite obvious for some time that his vision for the team doesn't mirror the Ownership's. Poch wants a pace and power side but the owners are putting together a smaller more technical side, hence all the Gallagher drama and Poch wanting more input over transfers to build the squad HE wants with more height, experienced players, etc...Comment

Chelsea might be going back to one of their old managers, Jose Mourinho which I don't think would be the long term solution.FanAmp - A Fun Place for All the F1 Fans!Comment

I’m resigned to the fact that he’s gone
Depending on the fee I’m ok with it. Good squad player but if we have aspirations of getting back to the top he can’t be a starter.
