Seems like a great signing, though a lot of Genk fans on the internet seem furious because now he can’t be replaced in a title race.

Got to admit I'm confused how he can come here in mid-March.

Doesn't the Belgium transfer window close on Jan. 31? Does it reopen on March 17 when their regular season closes (and before the start of their playoffs).

Players can always be taken from clubs whom are not in an open transfer window period. Players cannot however join a club whom is not in an open transfer window period. So basically until May 7th, MLS teams can sign players from anywhere. The only real recourse other teams have is not provide an International Transfer Certificate, which I imagine would just lead to a filing with FIFA.

Good start for DC United. Catching Atlanta early before they get more comfortable in their new system always helps. The weather that day certainly helped too

Another first for Minnesota. First ever road clean sheet. The additions of Alonso and Gregus means we finally have a legitimate midfield.

Atlanta United just conceded to Cincinnati in the 86th. Right after Nagbe botched a chance. FDB not looking good.

It’ll take them a bit to get it figured out. It was weird how they came out and scored so early then sort of looked off the rest of the game. Brek Shea continues to be the most frustrating player ever. He was constantly getting into good positions and missing the final ball. I also felt like that’s a spot where Guzan needs to bail out the team and make a save. The finish was not the best. It started almost at his foot and his reaction was way too slow.

Frank de Boer is going to get fired again for once again trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

Except he's essentially playing the same formation and tactics that ATL played last season under Tata. So in this case, the peg fits into the hole.

Forgot to come in here to see if anyone else saw Chara's 2nd yellow. Of all the **** he's gotten away with over the years, he picks up a red for flicking someone's ear behind the play. Rossi throwing himself to the ground due to it was hilarious as well.

Another year of MLS teams getting dominated by Liga MX teams in the CCL. The talent, depth, and match fitness hurdles always seem too much to overcome. I'd like to see if pushing this fround back to a point where MLS teams have a few more matches under their belts would help at least a bit.

I remember last year Toronto FC held their training camp in Pachua and Mexico City which certainly appeared to help with match fitness. I believe they even went back between MLS and Champions League games. (By comparison this year, they simply trained in California and were eliminated early).

They basically went all out for their preparations last year for Champions League and nearly won. I'm not sure if that kind of motivation exists for many of the MLS clubs to put that kind of effort into Champions League.
