I actually like it. The best part of this whole announcement is that there are now three more DP spots open in NYC. Should mean some big stars coming over.

Edit: Also heard Patrick Viera is favorite for manager job. That should help as well.

I see your point, but I don't mind it. All MLS clubs are affiliated with FIFA, so they are all football clubs. Semantics? Absolutely. But that still makes it OK for me, while Real Salt Lake and Sporting KC are egregious wannabe names.

If you want to keep doing things the American soccer way, you can say goodbye to MLS in 10-20 years. Might as well bring the 90:00 countdown clock back too.

terrible move by the Galaxy, Rogers is going to have a lot more pressure trying to replace Magee by the fans, then by anything else off the field .

I really hope its not just a PR move by the Galaxy and its just a precursor to a talented DP acquisition

Rumor has it that Magee wanted to go back to Chicago because of a personal/family situation. Kudos for Chicago for sticking to their guns and not settling for something a lot less than Rogers' value.

I agree. I hope it's part of some bigger master plan and there's also reports that Magee wanted this to be closer to his family. On a pure soccer level though, this trade is horrible IMO.
