I am a big supporter of the MLS and always jump to defend our league when people call it garbage.

That being said, and I hate to say this, a decent amount of those tier 2 leagues are still better than the MLS. Germany, Spain, England second tier leagues are probably better. I think half the MLS teams would get relegated from the Championship, with LA and maybe Sounders being the only teams that could avoid being relegated in the premier league.

This has literally always been their game, it was funny to read various sites and forums online where people were watching the Revs for the first time and we're shocked at the way they play.

They were lucky to finish the game with 11 players, let alone pushing to extra time.

That scoreline was flattering to New England. LA hosted a clinic and the Revs got lucky once.
I don't mind if they wanna play physical and "dirty" in the run of play. LA has played that way many times before. I'm talking about at the end of the game where Soares was helping up Penedo or so it seemed and then just shoved him right back down. Cheap shot and a sore loser.

      Here it is.

We'll just have to disagree on this because there's no way to prove it. But I will say that if you dropped the MLS team in those leagues, you also have to give the MLS team access to the contract rules and depth those clubs are afforded.

You will never convince me that all the teams in MLS wouldn't be able to compete in the English Championship and stay up for the most part. There are some really, really ****ty teams in the Championship filled with ****ty *** English players.

MLS vs Skybet Championship is an interesting comparison. I don't think LA Galaxy would finish in the top 5 in that league, but there's no way to know for sure.

It's hard to make any comparison with the English league when the MLS has a salary cap. The only league we can compare it to is the Mexican league because of CONCACAF play. And we all know how MLS teams fare when they play the Mexican League teams. Not good.

Brek Shea is close to returning to the MLS after a torrid time in England.

Brek Shea's Stoke City nightmare is reportedly coming to a close, with MLS side Orlando City set to sign the 24-year-old in time for the upcoming new season, but the midfielder's Premier League misery still remains somewhat unclarified.

Apparently Lampard is staying at City, which people are now asking if he even had an MLS contract.

Well, this should surprise no one. I wouldn't want to be Claudio Reyna right about now. Should have forced them to send him to Melbourne instead lol.

Which in turn meant that City lied about having Lampard on loan, which in turn meant that they're skirting FFP rules, which in turn means that the Mansour Financial Group (credit to Reddit) are ****ting on the football world in general by saying they can get away with this kind of crap.

Not to mention how badly MLS comes off by playing along with this farce.

For 18 months, I don't mind that, though it probably will break up our solid Brazilian midfield of Juninho and Sarvas. Let's see if he can be productive.

In non-Lampard news, it looks like Timbers defender Liam Ridgewell is going to be loaned to Wigan on a short-term basis. Will be back before the Simple Invitational in late February.

Portland Timbers center back Liam Ridgewell is headed to English club Wigan Athletic F.C. on a short-term loan deal, sources confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive.
