Re: Official 2013-14 Football League Thread
So Fulham has 0 points through 3 matches. But hey, at least they're ahead of Blackpool on GD.Comment

Er, so Kieran Agard, what's gone on there, UKOwnag3?
He turned down Leeds, an improved contract offer from Rotherham to drop down a league and play for Bristol City. Only thing I can think of is he wanted to play down south?Comment

Re: Official 2013-14 Football League Thread
0 through 4 games now and a 5-1 defeat means they manage to drop below Blackpool, not an easy thing to do! Magath is blaming it on a young team but I'm not convinced he'll be around much longer to sort it out. To be honest I would be happy to see them drop back down the leagues.Comment

Charlton is lurking around the playoff spots... Probably a little too soon for promotion, but they'll have a good year.
Also, Leeds is being, well Leeds....Last edited by cdawg44; 08-23-2014, 07:16 PM."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush

The reason? We've already sacked our manager. He managed us for 6 games. Yes, six.Comment

This might be about to happen:
Former Argentina boss Alejandro Sabella admits he has 'unfinished business' at Leeds United after being linked with the vacant head coach position.
Sabella, who joined the West Yorkshire side as a player in 1980, is currently out of work having guided Argentina to the World Cup final this summer.Comment

Re: Official 2013-14 Football League Thread
He wanted to leave and we wanted to sell him. I liken it to Newcastle probably cheekily saying they wanted £35m for Andy Carroll to Liverpool!
Also, we've appointed Darko Milanic as our manager. Suprisingly, it's our first foreign coach. I don't really know what to expect but he seems successful in Slovenia. It's better than Hockaday anyway! As long as he doesn't sell Lewis Cook I don't mind.Comment

Re: Official 2013-14 Football League Thread
To be honest, Milanic wasn't the right type of coach for us. We haven't won for a month and we were playing fantastic football under our youth team coach (who is now our coach for now again). If this had been normal, we would have ended up down near the bottom of the table for a while. This is my positive take on it anyway.
On the flip side, our owner is mental, but he's smart in the way soccer is played. Milanic was happy to go 1-0 up and shut up shop for the rest of the game, even if it was an early goal, like today for example.
We've had mental owners for what seems like a lifetime for me (which, at 22, is about how long we've had mental owners, convieniently), so this is sort of another take on it. I'm shocked at how not fussed I am about this. I suppose this is what our football club is and has been like for the past few years.Comment
