Re: The 2014-15 EPL Discussion Thread
Got to give props to Big Sam Allardyce. Always heavily critisized about his style of play. He's finally playing two up front as they have given up waiting for Andy Carroll. They are a real fun team to watch again.
Sakho scores in his first 6 PL games. Unbelievable for a guy that came from the second division in France.
Alex Song was a beast today and the full backs, Jenkisnon and Cresswell were incredible.Comment

Yeah, West Ham is actually watchable again... They are very similar to those Bolton Wanders team circa 2005 who were tough as nails, but could find the net. I still have nightmares of Arsenal going to the Reebok Stadium.

Meanwhile, I'm sorry that everyone is being subjected to Rodgers having cognitive dissonance about his tactics, and this crap was put on television instead of Arsenal.Comment

Sunderland was so derp, they gave Alexis two goals on a platter. Oh, and Gibbs went off with an Arsenal..."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush

now if they rest of the team would play with the same effort....Comment

Re: The 2014-15 EPL Discussion Thread
Yes, he was in position to make the play, but those were two inexcusable blunders on the part of Sunderland. And LOL at Mannone trying to blame his defenders on his howler. He had plenty of time to clear the ball but chose to try and play it onto his right foot and...well, the rest is history.Comment

Re: The 2014-15 EPL Discussion Thread
Ugh, Manchester clubs and late equalizers.
Dowd definitely didn't help things at all, denied a clear penalty in the first half and he was just generally in really poor positions all game. It's like he's not even physically fit enough to ref anymore.
That being said, we should have absolutely put that game away. I always knew United would turn up, but we are a team expected to challenge for a CL title and that performance just wasn't good enough. It's kind of concerning how much our playstyle suffers when Costa isn't there, though it isn't TOO bad when Remy is there. Honestly Drogba should only be a sub at this point, I feel even Shirley up top would have been more productive.
Also feel really bad for Courtois, kid almost never makes a mistake and just can't seem to get the multiple clean sheets he deserves.
Oh well, 6 points ahead of City, could definitely be worse.Comment

At the end of the day though, Drogba and Eden should have buried their chances, especially Eden. To get to that next level Hazard has to score when he has those kind of chances. Personally, I thought Mou went to Mikel a little too early to try to shut it down.
Not the worst result for each side though.Comment

Re: The 2014-15 EPL Discussion Thread
Dowd was atrocious. JT & Ivanovic basically were tackled in the box on that play. The foul that sent Ivanovic off was weak and didn't warrant a 2nd yellow. It then took off one of our better set-piece defenders and United equalized.

But yes, he did go to Mikel too early. United are in bad enough form that we should have been able to press longer for a second goalComment
