That's the best performance in a United shirt for Fellaini, he was superb.

      Who stole QPR's jerseys today?

        Only two things from United-Chelsea...

        1. Where has this defensive performance been all year? This match is easily the best our defense has performed. They better turn up for City and the rest of the season.

        2. I think we should've won, considering the clean chances we got. Chelsea also had clear chances, so I guess when it comes down to it, a draw is a fair result.

Bonus point: LvG is using Fellaini properly. Considering Moyes coached him his whole EPL career, I don't understand how he mismanaged Fellaini at United.

I was always under the impression Fellaini had a bad combination of lengthy injuries, low confidence and a big dip in form.

Your fans + the media were pretty brutal towards him last season.

It bothers me how much credit LVG is going to get for getting United to play better.

Moyes is a good manager who got hosed right from the beginning by a bunch of petulant manchildren who refused to listen to him since day 1. In comes LVG and all of a sudden they are doing what they are told.

That team did their level best to put a black mark on Moyes' s career and succeeded.

I've watched every single United match since 2008. Moyes' tactics and approach to a game was markedly different and set us up as if we're playing not to lose. LvG's approach is better and has got us playing the way we want -- attacking, on the ball, full of confidence, with pace.

I supported Moyes 'till the end and didn't want him to get fired. Last year was probably the most vocal I've ever heard United fans on every single match, away and home. You'd be hard pressed to find a clip of United fans booing Moyes or the team; and those that did boo, got out-cheered by die-hard supporters. The results didn't help his case, neither did the way United play on match day.

It's nonsense for you or anyone outside the club during Moyes' reign to claim the players purposefully played like **** so that Moyes would go out and take us out of Europe. Need I remind you of a certain Villas-Boa? Ancelotti? Di Matteo?

Let's not pretend as if Chelsea is the shining light when it comes to giving managers a chance to carry out a plan.

What does Chelsea have to do with David Moyes/LVG? Even with the revolving door we had at manager we only had 1 year outside of the Top 4 and we won the CL that year.

It doesn't hurt that United rolled out the warchest and spent ~145million on new players compared to ~64 the year before. LVG should be getting better results with players like Di Maria, Falcao, Shaw, Herrera, etc...

I didn't say the players purposely played badly, I said they didn't listen to him, which has been confirmed now by more than one player. It's hard to implement a system when your players won't listen to you right from jump.

Also look at the players the board purchased this summer compared to last summer. Why didn't they roll out such a massive cash allowance for Moyes? Not to mention that LVG has the extreme fortune of getting players who would absolutely not have been available last summer (Dima, Falcao, Shaw). Also, Chelsea's managerial woes have nothing to do with United.

LVG is a better manager than Moyes, nobody is going to dispute that. All I'm saying is that he hasn't really done anything amazing yet, and that Moyes would have been much more successful than he was if he had been given the same opportunities (players actually listening to him, the chance to buy players like Dima, etc.)

The funny thing is Moyes had 14 points through 9 matches (plus midweek CL fixtures). LVG? 13. And look at the fixtures each of them had in those 9.

This doesn't fit the narrative though, so it is invalid.

Plus, Moyes' team was never embarrassed the way this squad was against Leicester and MK Dons.

Yeah Moyes finished 7th but LVG has no idea what he's doing. I would have gave Moyes another shot or hired Diego Simeone or someone else who's a good coach.

Wait, are you saying LVG isn't a good manager?

My post was just pointing out an interesting fact, but I was in no way saying Moyes is a better manager than LVG. Obviously Man U is not going to swirl down the toilet like they did last season.

I would argue that mailing in a 0-3 performance against your bitter rival at home is far more embarrassing than losing a crazy road match where you score 3. Or losing while fielding a squad of bench players and 18 year olds against a side who won't play on a bigger stage the rest of the season.

What in the world? You need to check your LVG history.

I am now going to take a shower to wash this stink of defending Man U off of me.
