Re: The 2014-15 EPL Discussion Thread

I work in sales, so I talk to people all day long about anything and everything. Since the WC, there has been so many people talking about the sport who traditionally would never give it a chance. The people I have been chatting with may not know anything but they are interested now. I wonder if NBC can keep these ratings going.

      Wait, NBC's studio shows?

      The ones with Rebecca Lowe?

The ones that are almost universally lauded as the standard for soccer coverage in this country?

Over ESPN? Hell, I'll take Fox over NBC. At least their studio show during the champions league has a pulse. The NBC show is so dry and dull. Almost no personality whatsoever, and what little is there seems forced. Reminds me of CBS's NFL pre-game at its worst. Rebecca Lowe plays it way too straight for me. It's football, not Meet The Press.

Am I taking crazy pills? Taking Fox over NBC?

I love NBC's stuff. Must be something wrong with me.

I have no problem with Rebecca Lowe I just can't put up with Robbie Earle and Robbie Mustoe. Both are bloody awful.

Me too then cause I love me some NBC coverage. It's no frills and it's straight to the point. They set the table and let the football be exciting and be the main event, not the other way around. Plus they don't insult our intelligence with silly explaining the game crap like ESPN used to do. It's not a coincidence that ESPN World Cup coverage was stellar cause they stopped that crap this year.

Yeah you're thinking of FOX. ESPN has always taking soccer serious.(During the Skipper era at least)

Well, I just like Wynalda. So I'm probably the crazy person.

Ahh, I knew there had to be someone out there who liked him. There had to be a reason Fox keeps insisting on throwing him at us.

Personally I think he's the worst commentator in professional sports.

Fun fact about Eric Wynalda. He was a bad coach while being a bad analyst at the same time. Seriously, he was trying to coach a professional team around having a full-time studio job with Fox.

Didn't realize he'd stepped down. I remember seeing his name while looking up US Open Cup stuff a couple months ago and triple checking to make sure I wasn't just being fooled by Wikipedia.

MATT LAWTON - SPECIAL INVESTIGATION: Malky Mackay and Iain Moody have been reported to the FA and accused of being racist, sexist and homophobic in a shocking series of text messages.

Okay so Palace still doesn't have a manager and the guy they wanted is a total docuhe apparently. I'll just link to the texts, cause I'll be banned forever with the crap these clowns wrote..

Why do they still not show the starting 11 before kick off? Extremely annoying. I even pre-record 15 minutes before kick off. Sometimes games start at kick off with no pregame show or anything! Come on NBC... same issue last year and they didn't fix it.
