So, his best bet is to become a member of any team in London and get tickets that way.
Red membership plus joining Arsenal America is the easiest path to getting tickets for Arsenal. £36 plus $20 to join Arsenal America. They get pretty good seats in the lower bowl too if you go through them.

If he is a fan of an EPL team like Spurs or Chelsea, I'm sure it's a similar process, but tougher because of the stadium size. Last time I went to London, I caught a Charlton Athletic game. It's league one, but still some good footy at really cheap prices. There is somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 league sides in Greater London. He'll find plenty of football to watch while he is there...

Seriously, some of the lower league matches are better, the fans are awesome and would welcome him with open arms. I'd recommend him catching a game at Fulham. Craven Cottage is right by the river Thames and is a beautiful old school ground. Really intimate site. Also forgot about all the non league sides and the Under 21 and 19s for the big boys. He won't have any trouble finding a game...

He's not a fan of any specific team. Just wants to go and experience it because, well, he won't really have anything else to do for entertainment's sake lol.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll pass them along.

Yeah, if he's going just for the hell of it, not being a fan of a particular team. My buddy went to England last spring, and got priced out of going to a Chelsea match, so he ended up going to a Championship team's game, Ipswich IIRC, and said it was a blast. Cheaper prices, intimate atmosphere, fun fans.

If I ever make it over to England, I would definitely try to make it over to one of those Championship games.

Meanwhile at times Chelsea will be fielding 5 Brazilians in their starting 11.

Now I don't have a rooting interest in any EPL team, but I definitely want to see how Van Gaal's 3 in the back formation works in the league

pre-season is 1 thing but the league is another and with Evans and Shaw out at the moment I can only cross my fingers. For smaller teams I think the midfield and attack can take care of things but we're going to need a squad at full strength against tougher opponents.
