Sounds like the three media favorites for the Rangers position are…

    1. Former Feyenoord manager (and former Rangers player) Giovanni van Bronckhorst (won the league and two cups in his four seasons)

    2. Former Aston Villa assistant John Terry

    3. Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard

Rangers confirmed Giovanni van Bronckhorst as their manager today. Probably won't be managing the team this Sunday against Hibernian.

Per Fab, Ole is no longer at the wheel.

Thank god. Way too late and there really isn’t a perfect good fit right now. Conte would have been fine but that’s done and dusted. Whole thing is a *** **** mess.

And I have to say. Absolutely magnificent job by United’s board deflecting from everyone seeing how absolutely disgracefully inept they are. They were always scared to sack Ole since he’s a club legend. Last thing this cushy board wants is all fingers pointed at them so they let him linger and wallow even though everyone and their mother could see he’s not up for this job. By letting him wallow so long it got to the point where us supporters now just wanted to yell “Ole out” so loudly that it deflected any attention away from sacking a club legend.

To me, Conte at United would’ve been frightening. Talented squad, and the club ****s money so while he may not have gotten everything he wanted, he would’ve been backed to a degree.

Looking forward to Carrick being given the position permanently after a string of okay results.

They should have signed Pochettino 3 years ago. I think it will be Carrick till the end of the season and then Poch comes.

There’s no way the board wanted to deal with another Mourinho type. They liked the yes man and general nice guy that Ole appears to be.

I say Carrick til the end of the year and then either Potter or Poch. Zizou wants France and I think he’ll get it after the ‘22 World Cup.

ManU’s issues go much much deeper than Ole. Sacking the manager is just a band aid. That club needs a top down restructuring.

Well, no, but that doesn't mean that if he went there he wouldn't have brought trophies given the current and possible resources.

Were they going to hire him? No. Should they have if they want their sporting achievements to match their commercial achievements? Yes.

I'm very glad he went to Spurs, where it'll hilariously fall apart.

If Poch is really saying he wants to leave PSG now to take the job, Man U needs to act now. I know they said Carrick then maybe interim til the end of the season, but why? Start getting to work now.

Steve Bruce says he's interested in stepping in until the end of the season.

Almost as stupid as Rio Ferdinand saying he'd do the DoF job at Man United and that he thinks he'd be great at it.

                              Almost.

This seems like the right place to say this: I absolutely loathe the garbage, obligatory response of "Let's remember, a man lost his job today." whenever a manager is sacked.

Yes, and they were given a severance that the vast majority of supporters of whatever club they're leaving could live on for the rest of their lives.

I hate when football tries to put things into context, when as a whole, top-flight football lives very much outside of the context of the real world that surrounds it.
