Ligue 1 too surely? Don't think PSG is going anywhere.

Also I agree, it's dumb as hell doing it by ourselves.

After years of asking for it Arsene will surely find a way to complain about how it still wasn't enough to help get the squad ready for the new season.

It's not as bad as it first seems though. Only thing you have to worry about is the next couple years with release clauses that don't have any conditions. Any future release clauses will have the restriction slapped on them that they can only be triggered in an EPL window.

After that, contrary to popular belief, it is possible to tell a mega club to **** off during those 3 weeks.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. Get your **** done and team put together before the season. Then if you need to improve, do it in January.

I love it. Once the season starts, it starts. Not wondering about who may come in, who may go, who isn't in the squad for phantom back pains, etc. It's absurd that it has taken this long. After a season or two, I think everyone will look back on how it once was and laugh at the absurdity of it.

Definitely great for Togga Fantasy PL! Haha

I like it and won't be surprised if others follow suit sooner rather than later. We'll see though.

Saw on Reddit that Bundesliga will follow suit too, apparently. Still, if not everyone in Europe follow suit next year, EPL clubs are basically handicapping themselves for no good reason.

I'm all for this change though! No more transfer drama in the first few weeks of the season and until January is going to be refreshing.

This will have a bigger impact on Prem teams buying players from outside the league than anything else, which will also just increase prices.

With the Prem window closing early, non-Prem teams know we are all under the gun, and can just be like "that will be eleventy-billion pounds please" and sit tight knowing they have more time than we do to get the transfer done. This will either make it so Prem teams buy less foreign players, or Prem teams will overpay even more than they already do.

Other leagues will definitely take advantage of this change.

I actually think most other leagues will join them within the next couple years.

But in the meantime it'll give people another excuse for EPL teams playing like **** in the UCL against better teams. Add it the list of excuses.

It's all a ploy by the FA to further develop home grown players!

They will, because it's a good idea especially when everyone is in on it.

I could definitely see La Liga and Ligue 1 holding off for a year or two and trying to take advantage of it in the meantime though. Germany and Italy I could see doing it next summer.

Huddersfield looking like they want to be the new Leicester. And I'm all for it.

Starting to seem like he wants to leave...

Slaven Bilic risked angering his employers after saying David Sullivan ‘likes to talk’ and that the Sporting Lisbon president’s description of the West Ham owners was funny
