That's the first time I've seen effort and Bendtner is the same sentence.

But to be fair, Wenger always played him on the wing.

No need to be fair to Bendtner

I genuinely cackled at being mistaken for the United fan (Mo) who wanted a lengthier ban for Mane. I was the one who wanted orange for Mane, not red (originally)!!!

Considering all the high-foot tackles and the subsequently inconsistent punishment this past weekend, they really should just reword the rules of the game regarding this. Neville was pretty much proven correct with his general statement of "the punishment (card) shouldn't consider the severity (if any) of the injury and only look at the challenge itself."

Just going back to Ederson -- since when was his header considered "low?" He went down 75 degrees at most, which is pretty normal for anyone attempting a header. If he went down near waist level, then that's definitely considered going low and is (almost always) a fair challenge to go in with your leg.

Liverpool did indeed appeal the length of Mane's ban, but it has been upheld.

                Exactly.

At this point, it's so obvious to everyone that some sort of action is needed in order to have better consistency going forward, so definitely I'm expecting the FA to do absolutely nothing.

Mostly a symbolic appeal. No way did Liverpool actually think the FA was going to go against a referee's report. They never do. If it's in the referee's report as dangerous play, there will be a 3-match ban. Period.

Watch Klopp play him at right back against Spartak Moscow with Gomez banned. He will be pleased!

Pretty sure he ended the Sevilla game playing RB didn't he?

He came on for Salah. I suppose he might have finished there for the last minute because Gomez got sent off.

Don't forget Friday Night Football returns tonight with Bournemouth v Brighton. They are only 97 miles apart so they are somewhat of a south coast derby. Early 6 pointer?
