Not that this means much, but would he be one of the players Liverpool could move on and reinvest from? I recall rumblings that he’d be the one to go from “the front three”, I think.Comment

He hasn't been in great goal scoring form this year. He's mentally off. I wouldn't begrudge him wanting to get a fresh start somewhere, even though he is still a fantastic player when he's not scoring.Comment

United have to be very careful here. I know it’s hard to keep a sharp focus when the only game left to play for is in well ahead but focus can’t just be turned on and off like this. They clearly do not look sharp at all and it seems as if they are thinking that once they go ahead, the opposition will just roll over.

In games against Arsenal he's always been by far the player I'm most frightened of with the ball at his feet around or in the box.
I'm ready for him to move to a different league.Comment

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
It is very clear to see that Sadio Mane and Mo Salah do not like each other. Salah's assist for Mane's header last week against Southampton was the first time they have combined for a goal all season! The first since June 2020. That is absolutely ridiculous. Even when one of them score, the other barely celebrate with the other, it is very noticeable.
If it comes down to one of them moving on I would keep Salah as he guarantees you 20+ goals.Comment

I've noticed the no celebration thing myself. Its like they are rivals now.
And I'm probably in the minority with this on here for Pool supporters, but...
I would say move Salah. He will bring in more money to get a bigger name like possibly Dybala or Mbappe (I'm dreaming, I know). Plus Mane does far more for the team overall than just score goals. He assists far more and does way more defensive work. Salah is lazy out of possession and commentators are constantly mentioning how Klopp is having to berate him during matches for not pressing or closing down on defense duty. Salah is just a poacher as that kid once now famously said in a video when asked why he didn't pick Salah as his favorite player (he picked Bobby, and then went on to tell Salah to his face why, lol).
Anyway, I don't see us moving either of them on this summer however. Unless Mane makes it a big deal and Klopp doesn't think they can reconcile, then we will probably move him on. And that will really make me mad.Last edited by Zac; 05-14-2021, 11:52 AM.

I don’t know if it’s still true, but at one point earlier this season, Salah had the most goals/assists per game in EPL history. He should be kept at all costs for one more 5-year contract and maybe consider selling him at this point in that next contract.
I wouldn’t call him lazy either. He tracks back a LOT more than some of the other top scorers. Nor is he a poacher.
Salah has also had more assists than Mane in every season until this year, where Mane leads 5-4.. In fact, two seasons ago Mane had 1 league assist. Salah had 8 and only played in two more matches.
I think people have this perception that Salah doesn’t perform well because his first season was absolutely outrageous. The fact is that he has easily been Liverpool’s most consistent offensive contributor since he arrived.
FINAL EDIT: Just showing the goals/assists (per/90) for each since Salah arrived (league only)
20/21: Salah 21 (0.7)/4 (0.2) Mane 9 (0.4)/5 (0.2)
19/20: Salah 19 (0.6)/10 (0.4) Mane 18 (0.6)/7 (0.3)
18/19: Salah 22 (0.7)/8 (0.3) Mane 22 (0.7)/1 (0.1)
17/18: Salah 32 (1.0)/10 (0.4) Mane 10 (0.5) /7 (0.3)
So in conclusion - both great players. I'll take Salah, especially since Jota prefers the left, and I believe he will end up being just as good as Mane very soon - if he isn't already there.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 05-14-2021, 01:44 PM.Comment

And that's fine, it's not like there's a huge difference between the two players. Salah's just more consistent AND we already have what appears to be a player who can slot in for Mane without a drop.Comment
