That’s the scummiest part for me.

They are putting a lot of good things in there, that should probably be done anyway, so they can justify an absolutely blatant power grab.

This is 100% FSG and the Glazers. If this goes through I promise relegation will be off the table at some point. This would be the first step towards making the PL an American-style league where the big clubs would never have to worry about money ever again.

I mean they are straight up bribing other clubs in the proposal lmao. 120m “stadium rebate” for Spurs?

Absolutely insane. I hope more PL clubs come out and denounce it.

Arsenal rightly get hell for their doofus owner, but **** John Henry every which way for reportedly saying this:

“It was hard to see the point of the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Wigan Athletic, Birmingham City, Stoke City and half a dozen other clubs who came and went from the top flight. In American terms, the division was stacked with minor league clubs playing in the majors.”

One of my favorite things about football, especially European, is that I never need the “American terms” applied. Gross.

It’s crazy that after all the good FSG has done for Liverpool they are willing to just erase all goodwill they have with their own fans for this plan that likely won’t even go through.

But I'd say damage was done in some way. It has been discussed whether or not the plan was leaked to gauge interest, or if it was leaked by someone to intentionally damage it.

I think it was leaked to damage it and to call attention to what is being discussed behind closed doors. I don't think this was some kind of "put it out there and see how people feel" type of situation. I think someone saw this and wanted others to know what type of nonsense was attempting to be done.

I'd just like to get back to watching Liverpool instead of wondering what the hell the owner was thinking. Having to sit on that last result has been so GD annoying.

Tbf, I think we all know what he’s thinking.

Just another 2020 thing to add to the list really. United and Liverpool fans coming together PUBLICLY to denounce their owners, who had also joined forces in an attempt to control the league together.

                      Lmao.

At least some good will come out of it because that sure snapped everyone involved to the table. They have to come up with something. Right now it looks like they’re talking about a package to help out League 1 and 2 clubs.

Yeah, that’s the thing—now that it’s out, it’s known that it’s possible and an option. They can no longer wait for the UK government to do anything, as they’ve shown they’re capable of doing it themselves.

Another reason why I don’t think those involved leaked it. It allows the government to sit back and let the Premier League take care of saving the Football League.

Lots of Sunday matches on Peacock and both Monday matches on NBCSN, so there appears to be no pattern here. Saturday ManU/Arsenal is on big boy NBC.

There is going to be a solid 10 hours of footy on TV. 7:30 AM? Celtic/Rangers or Merseyside?
