    2020-2021 English Football Thread

With no crowds it is a lot easier for teams to just go for it at all times - home or away. That is a huge factor leading to a lot more attacking football. It is going to be such an interesting season through the end.

The away intimidation factor is so big from players to refs to managers. It is why home field advantage is so clearly more important in this sport than any other.

It’s odd—there have been moments when both sides seem to have agreed to play at 60% speed.

Gabriel with a risky move there on Bernardo Silva.

Liverpool have been playing at an unreal level for so long now, and with that they’ve also had great luck.

It took a long time, but we’re seeing a regression towards the mean. The VVD injury only furthers that.

Essentially, they’re coming back to reality—a bit.

There’s no question about the regression to the mean. Was always going to happen. Great run, but really losing about 3 meaningful matches in the league across two seasons was an incredible run. I enjoyed it.

Just really pissed that Pickford’s overrated *** did what he did today.

Well that was a pretty disappointing game. Rather boring to be honest.

It was very, very dull. But we’ve all been spoiled for weeks now. Although, that game would be dull in any season.

Sucks when a 1-0 loss feels like “progress”, but that’s where we’re at. A 1-0 away loss to City is better than they typical 4-0 or 3-1 scoreline.

Still a ways to go for us, but I do believe we are on the right track.

Did De Gea literally just watch that go a foot past him? Wtf. Hey they are consistent. I give them that

If Leno wasn’t Leno we concede more, and if Saka finishes that near end of first half chance when he was through on goal who knows.

It was thankfully close, although dull and we never threatened too much.

So annoying that actually worked lmao.

                              Not surprising obviously, but annoying.
