Re: 2021-2022 English Football Thread
It won’t matter who plays for Liverpool. They’ll win after Arsenal are wrongly built up as some kind of team who could give them trouble in the title race for clicks and views, when in reality they’re not even close in terms of current capabilities.
Arsenal are playing well, and I’m enjoying it (and engaging in a more healthy way than ever) but it will be an expected bump in the road for a team who are in their infancy of learning to play together.
Overall, Arsenal are still a young team (especially defensively) prone to emotionally overreacting, and I think Liverpool will punish that.
The positive note? I don’t think a loss to Liverpool will damage Arsenal’s spirit, as they know they have a long way to go and that they’re at the beginning of what they’re attempting to build.Comment

Liverpool aren’t playing well. They’re grinding out results which is ALL that matters in a title race but you can’t play the small club card that’s against all odds.
Liverpool has the copyright for that that lol

I loathe how so many matches are built into something they’re not. Yes, this Arsenal side have been impressive, but there have been a lot of cracks and we haven’t exactly been putting games away easily.Comment

I am finally seeing highlights from the Brighton match. Absolutely ridiculous that keepers are allowed to get away with what happened on the Diaz goal. Let me guess, if the ball goes wide, it’s a quick red from the ref. Now tell me why the ball going in should have any bearing whatsoever. It makes absolutely no sense.
As for double jeopardy on that play, I don’t think that applies to dangerous play, which that was.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 03-16-2022, 02:45 PM.Comment

Eh, I’m saying what I actually believe, though, not what makes me feel better, gives me hope, or helps me build up the competition in anticipation of enjoying a victory even more.

No one really does during this time of the year. City have looked suspect in the league, I spoke on Liverpool, and we luckily escaped vs Newcastle.
It’s the two best in form teams in the league with both clubs having something to play for.

Doesn’t surprise me how well Arsenal played in that half. What is extremely disappointing is how nonchalant and off the pace we’ve looked. Klopp is going to absolutely lay into them after that half.
And Mane would you stay on your *** **** feet? You’re being embarrassing.Comment

Yep, and Andre Marriner letting them play. Not every tackle is a foul. Get up and get on with it.Comment
