United should then hire Poch after firing ten Haag, and give him time and the ability to do whatever he wants to do with their squad. That would terrify me, but thankfully, it won't happen.Comment

Still catching up—I see Romero did his every game red card offense that is only sometimes punished. If only the media painted him as a clumsy, idiotic liability, maybe then he'd be punished more often by officials.

How do PL Teams recognize FA Cup wins?
Do they hang banners up like American Teams do?#RespectTheCultureComment

It is considered the 3rd best trophy you can win in a season for the big clubs but still a major trophy. For mid-table and down it is the only major trophy you can win and It starts with every team in England from the very low tiers and higher leagues enter through the different rounds.
No such thing as banners really, Liverpool has a wall where they have the silhouettes of the trophies and the number they’ve won under each. Trophies are usually returned to be given to the next winner.
Edit: I’ll add that until Liverpool has more leagues than United again the importance goes:
League
Champions League
FA Cup
Europa League
EFL Cup
Pretty much any other club switches the top two.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 12-11-2023, 08:30 PM.Comment

Someone on Twitter was talking about how they hang banners in Soccer and I can’t recall ever seeing anything like that. They were talking about how the Lakers are going to raise a banner for winning the Tournament and that’s how that Soccer Banner part came up.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2023–2024 English Football Thread
That squad is by far the worst of the Big Six and it’s not even remotely close. That whole club needs a revamp, from Old Trafford to Carrington.
There isn’t a manager out there, not even Pep or Klopp that could turn around that sinking ship in 3-4 years

Re: 2023–2024 English Football Thread
I think if you gave Poch the type of control Arsenal gave Arteta, to remove whatever rot you want and any player who remotely challenges your authority, he'd have them in a scary place in three years—especially with their resources. Part of that is a technical/sporting director working closely with him, and not just providing him players they view as a commercial asset.
I don't think they'd give anyone that type of control, however, so until it happens I'm not worried.Comment

Re: 2023–2024 English Football Thread
I think people have forgotten how incredibly and laughably bad the Arsenal squad was when Arteta took over (because he's turned it around). I'm not saying it's worse than the current United squad, but they're at least equal (Sokratis and Luiz at the back, my god).

Naaa we all remember how trash your roster was back then but I’m talking about right now. Assuming they sell Casameiro and Varane to Saudi in the next one or two windows the next manager is going to inherit a backline of Shaw/Malacia - POTM Maguire/Lisandro/Lindelof/Johnny Evans - AWB/Dalot plus a bunch of other players like Rashford &,Bruno who have gotten 2-3 other managers fired.
Long may it continue!
