Looks like Kaka is going to be Florentino's first big signing. According to AS, he is supposedly going to be introduced Thursday. Looks like Pelligrini is the front runner to take over as manager at Madrid as well.

      I read Real Madrid.

      Transfer speculation is the worst.

Cana seems to be a bit of a madman. I wonder how much of that play he would get away with against ManU.

        Cana's physicality v Ronaldo's frailty = ??!!??

I'm impressed with Cana. Definitely not someone I would like to go head to head with. I think he could make a definite impact for the gunners...maybe even my Cottagers

Me no trust AS lol. AS tends to cater to Roma and Lazio and do their best to irritate Milan with multiple transfer rumors.

Udinese forward Fabio Quagliarella signs for Napoli, despite interest from Inter and Juve. Good on him!

Genoa have signed Inter's aging star Hernan Crespo, and are reportedly close to signing 08/09 flop Ricardo Quaresma too (see same link).

Chelsea are close to wrapping up a deal for CSKA Moscow fullback/winger Yuri Zhirkov for £18.6million (local TV reported its already a done deal).

Wow Cana plays like a madman in a bad way...whats with the beating up and pushing of opponents? The best players dont have to resort to tactics like that. Maybe he should go try MMA. lol

Tevez isnt going to be signed with Man Utd and I dont blame Man U. Tevez is overrated and cant score enough goals or create chances as a forward.

What Man U really need is a creative out and out striker, not jokes like Tevez and Berbatov.
Maybe a really good goalie to replace Van Der Sar would be good too.

                  Re: The Transfer Thread

I'd rather United beef-up the midfield than get a striker. With Owen Hargreaves possibly not playing 'till January, United needs more options. Anderson is still developing, Park is rumored to be out, Scholes/Giggs are still good but aging, and Carrick/Fletcher are good on offense/defense but they sometimes have those moments in big-games where they commit rookie mistakes. Basically, they need a leader in the middle.

Don't quite get the Barry deal i thought he wanted Champions League Football. Any rumors on who Villa will get to replace him. I know O'Neill likes british players i always thought michael johnson but maybe since he wasn't involved in the transfer Martin has his eyes on someone else. I just hope he isn't settling on Reo-Coker and Sidwell

Alot of us want to see Milner moved to CM and get someone like David Bentley to play on the opposite of Ashley Young.

Do not really know yet. It's a good thing that the whole Gareth Barry mess is over with, though. Don't have to hear or read about that all summer.

                        Re: The Transfer Thread

Man City have confirmed the signing of Gareth Barry for £12 million, meaning Barry will not play Champions League football in 2009/10.
An intresting one I heard today and very realistic IMO:

Michael Owen - Newcastle to Everton - £5.2 Million

It seems as though Kaka is in a three way tussle as Real Madrid and Chelsea have both shown intrest in the midfielder.
With Ancelotti on his way to Chelsea it looks as though he will be a blue, although if Madrid don't get Ronaldo or Kaka they will most lkely go in for Franck Ribery.

                          *UPDATE*

According to Spanish newspapers and associated media, Kaka's father was in Madrid today to seal a 56 million euro deal.

Real is about to load up it will fun to see Pellegrini with a lot of resources see how he does. I wonder if he wants to bring in Marcos Senna

I thought Michael Owen was out of contract couldn't Everton have him for free

Tenacious midfielders and defenders have to be rough. Knock a good striker with pace on his *** the first time he comes at you and mess with him psychologically. A lot of his tackles are rough, but they are clean as he gets the ball most of the time.

I'd rather have someone who will go in hard on tackles than someone who will get manhandled trying to tackle someone.

Looks like AS was actually right for once. Though it was widely speculated that if Florentino Perez did win the elections that Kaka would be his #1 target.

Looks like Kaka is going to be the beginning of The Galaticos Version 2.0 era.
