Last year the plan was buy more forwards than they could play. This year it's defensive midfielders. Brilliant.

I hope this happens, as then the Spanish media will have to find a different player to bring up when it falsifies stories about Cesc going to Barca.

They seem to be doing the same thing with central defenders. They have Toure, Kompany, Lescott, Onuoha and now Jerome Boateng. They are also after Vidic, Chiellini, etc, etc, etc.

I partially understand since Mancini wants to assemble his own squad, but I'd understand that concept much more if they actually would sell one or two players also. Is Ireland staying or going?

More than likely going. I've heard he could be part of the potential James Milner transfer with Aston Villa.

Liverpool are also interested but I don't think they would take our offer of 5 pence. That's all we have.

I mean this is the same team that gave 16 million for an average player in De Jong when they could of had him for free 4 months later.

You don't have to make good moves when you have as much money as Manchester City.

Sounds like Martin Petrov will either sign with Bolton or Villa.

I think De Jong is a much better player than you give him credit for. It was still a dumb business move though.

He isn't near good enough to be shelling out 16 million when he's about to go out of contract.

He would be a squad player for most big clubs.

but there is a pretty reliable in the know poster on a Villa board saying that they are about to sign Robbie Keane.

                            yay?

Well he's saying they're signing Robbie Keane, and who the hell want to report they're signing him.

                                So pretty reliable.
