    Re: The Transfer Thread

Sky just said Arsenal are tabling a bid of 10M pounds for Arteta.

Liverpool finally unloaded Poulsen to Evian on a transfer. About time.

Cahill, Santos, and Mertesacker would be three huge additions to the defense and would mean no more Squillaci or Djourou. If Cahill is available for 12 mil, Wenger has to pull the trigger.

Sounds like Crouch is going to Stoke.

So it looks like Arteta and Benayoun are the quality replacements for Nasri and Fabregas....brilliant.

              Europa League here we come.

Well, I view Gervinho as the Nasri replacement, and our defense has now gotten a heck of a lot better than it was last year. Still not ideal, but it's no longer doomsday for the Gunners.

Why both Cahill and Mertesacker, I figured it would be one or the other. And can't see either of them coming to Arsenal to sit on the bench and Vermaelen is a sure shot starter.

                    Cry me a river.

Gervinho, Arteta and Benayoun is a pretty decent make up for Nasri and Fabregas.

At least you didn't give up Ashley Young and Stuart Downing for Charles N'Zogbia and nothing.

Were Arsenal not Villa and we have just raised over 50 million pounds between Nasri and Cesc. Arteta and Benayoun are not decent replacements. They are cheap that's why they were bought.

Just thought today would be different and we would actually spend some of the huge transfer kitty we have. I guess the asset stripping from the board will continue.

Odds are, you have never seen Arteta play, then. Saying he's not a decent replacement is foolishness.

And he isn't a decent replacement when you have 50 million pounds at your disposal.
