My first favorite club, Arsenal, have sold excellent players in the past few years to England's richest club, Manchester City.

My second favorite club, Borussia Dortmund, are now about to sell two of their best players to Germany's richest club, Bayern Munich.

At least the second favorite has won things recently.

      Silver lining.

I really don't get why they would sell Lewa to Bayern as well. There will be suitors for him no matter what and the only valid reason I see them selling to Bayern is if all they want is maximum money from his transfer and Bayern offers/ed that.

Does Lewandowski have a release clause like Gotze? Selling your best two players to your main rival is suicide. Dortmund would have to find replacements. Kießling from Leverkusen and Kevin Volland from Hoffenheim are possible options.

Also just read today that Sven Bender could be on his way out.

You have to sell for maximum money. Bayern will always have an advantage over Dortmund anyway, yet Borussia has won 2 straight Bundesligas and could win the Champions League. Take your profits, reinvest and do it again.

              Re: The Transfer Thread

"Its really sad to see Dortmund's best players leaving while they are on the cusp of greatness. Such a young talented team that if kept together could be a dominate force in Europe for years to come. Sad to see big money football reaping its ugly head again."

took that from another forum and i couldnt agree more. i was mostly a premier league guy but fifa 12 introduced me to dortmund. they were an option in the fifa 12 demo (and fifa 13 demo, too). i played really well with them and they became my new fifa team. here in the US, i mainly get premier league games and only get a chance to see teams in other countries during champions league and the europas. so last year and this year, i watched all the dortmund games i could and became fascinated with the way they play the game. just sucks to see a team that could dominate europe for the next 2-3 years would want to break up and not stick together, as they have great team chemistry. but, as it was mentioned earlier, dortmund were in a lot of financial trouble and bayern helped them out and this is their way of collecting. i mean dortmund signed many players for cheap and they became stars (kagawa is an example and i cant remember who else).

as for the lewandowski rumors, wherever ive read in the news or other football forums, all signs point to lewandowski joining gotze at bayern. man u might have something to say about it, tho. he does not have a release clause. with gotze $37 million transfer fee and lewandowski surely over $20 million, they will easily find replacements for each.

here are the rumored replacements for gotze ive heard about: dortmund will go in house with leonardo bittencourt and moritz leitner and/or they will sign/or get on loan chelsea's kevin de bruyne. also, schalke's julian draxler has been thrown out there as a possibility as well.

lewandowski's replacement: dortmund have been looking at dzeko, negredo, aubameyang, and if villa go down, benteke. latest one i saw is papiss cisse.

since gotze and lewandowski are leaving, it has sparked a raid at dortmund. hummels has long been linked to barcelona. now reus and bender rumored to man city. bender just signed an extension until 2017 and reus just signed to his hometown club last year, i cant see either of them leaving. also, is there even any room at man city? i hate all this buying and stacked teams, but the players agree to go. wouldnt you want to take out goliath and not join them? hopefully, and i think so, dortmund will find suitable replacements that keep them on track to how they have been doing the past couple years.

Plus, at least Dortmund has shown they're willing to spend to replace those they've lost. Perisic and Gundogan were not the perfect replacement for Sahin, but they're not too far off.
I think Gundogan is every bit as good if not better. It's tough though since Sahin hasn't been in-form for a while.

I have confidence that they will spend wisely if Klopp is there.

Cesc returning to Arsenal is starting to pick up some steam. What I wouldn't give to see my favorite player back in North London!

Barcelona have identified Reina as their replacement for Valdes.

Shouldn't someone awkwardly pull a Barcelona shirt over his head before this goes any further?
