Re: The Transfer Thread
Both of which are likely untrue
Chelsea aren't a selling club, if he is sold this window it will be for a more than 18mil.
I think the most likely scenario is he goes on loan. The only way he gets sold this window is if he puts in a transfer request or some team is willing to offer 25mil. I'd be surprised if Chelsea entertained any offers lower than that.Comment

Well looks like KDB is gone pending a medical. We made enough off him to buy Nemanja Matic back from Benefica to help solidify the central midfield.
A solid move considering KDB was never going to beat out Hazard/Oscar/Mata/Willian/Shurlle in that attacking trio band.

Super excited for Matic. Younger, taller, slightly more athletic version of Yaya. Not to mention a work rate to match Ramires. We are going to have the most obnoxiously energetic midfield in England.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Rumored price is 23mil for KDB, good bit of business for a player that we bought for 7.

I'm not a Chelsea supporter, and have never been sure what to think about Mourinho...
...but it's hard not to like their midfield.
Also hard to say which kind of striker would benefit from their play more...the type that can be a false 9 and cover a lot of attacking midfield space...or a larger presence, a more conventional striker.
Drogba was a seemingly perfect man for the old Chelsea, but they didn't have the same kind of midfield...even with Robben, Lampard. That being said, I think Lukaku would still bring that kind of threat, even with the new, buzzing midfield.
I do wonder if there will be a rough adjustment period for Lukaku and the midfield. I imagine he would demand service, and not be as happy to be kinda the #2 option in attack. If they can play to one anothers' strengths, it could be frightening, though...Last edited by fugazi; 01-15-2014, 12:08 PM.Australian Rules Football...just sayin'Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
It's a little strange but it also shows how far United have dropped if you take into account the "don't sell to a title contender". We're typically not a selling club but with KDB & Mata we made big profits off of. Bought him for 27 and sold him for 37. It will be sad seeing him in a United shirt. He was pretty much our only creative player for 2 years including the UEFA CL run. Add in the fact that he never publicly complained and Chelsea fans will always love our former #10.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Chelsea must have something up their sleeve. Essien also looks like he'll be going, they have let Bertrand leave on loan already. A couple of injuries and Chelsea's squad is pretty threadbare.
EDIT: Looks as if you are beating us to the signing of Basel's Mohamed Salah. According to Sky is flying in for talks and undergo a medical.Last edited by ~LiverpoolRed~; 01-23-2014, 12:15 PM.Comment
