    Re: The Transfer Thread

Benteke is certain to leave now, with rumors of both ManU and Liverpool having bids accepted.

Edit: Liverpool has had a £32.5 million bid accepted.

I would take that in a heartbeat.

          It's his release clause.

            Re: The Transfer Thread

That is the release clause in Benteke's contract. You either overpay now, or he goes to Chelsea or Man U next year for 20 in the last year of his contract. Not saying I think Liverpool should do this, but if they want him now, that's what he costs.

            Liverpool conference room:

            "Buy more attackers!"

            - "But sir, we had the best attack in the league two years ago but finished 2nd because we..."

            "I SAID BUY MORE ATTACKERS"

That is good business for Villa.

As for Liverpool, didn't take long to spend that Sterling money.

The way Liverpool is set up now is the equivalent of skipping leg day at the gym.

They will certainly be recouping some of the money by selling/loaning a striker or two. They aren't going into the season with 6 on the roster.

In other news. Vidal to Bayern? Yeah, I think they'll be fine without Schweinie.

                  Vidal to Bayern for £28m?

                  That seems like a steal...

Highway robbery. Tells you how out of wack valuations are if you do an EPL to EPL transfer. The fact that Benteke costs more than Alexis Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas, and Vidal is ridiculous to me. Vidal is a world class box to box midfielder who is worth every penny north of £45 million

But you have to remember a couple things.

                      1) The Euro, which is what that deal is actually being transacted in, is not strong. It's about the same as the US dollar these days. Italian teams are leaking money left and right. 40+ million Euros looks pretty damn good to Juve.

                      2) Benteke's deal is not being dictated by the open market. It is what his release clause is.

                      3) Bayern has some kind of Jedi mind trick thing where they rip a team off every summer. At least it wasn't Dortmund this time.

Oh I'm sure they'll get Reus next Summer.

Yeah, I'm not dogging Benteke. I think he's a fine player and proven goal scorer, especially when you consider the trainwreck that Villa's been over the last 3 years. Even after that fine year he probably wouldn't have fetched 32mil. He immediately gives Pool a danger-man on set pieces/corners with his aerial ability.

Oh I believe Benteke will be a monster for you guys and at least gives you some sort of good quality if Sturridge can't get on the pitch. Beats Borini, Balotelli, and Lambert any day of the week.

Well, Bayern did take one on the chin with the Toni Kroos deal last summer. Still can't believe he went that cheaply despite only having 1 year left on his deal.

I highly doubt it because Sturridge is out until at least October. I think they're going to loan Lambert and sell Borini.
