The Depay deal has a bunch of clauses to make that number look a lot better. They have a buy-back clause and a sell-on clause. It's essentially a loan where they can either get him back or profit if he improves.

Re: The Transfer Thread
Selling players with a buyback clause can be preferable to a loan deal depending on the case. A lot of clubs will be hesitant to give consistent starting time to a loanee, simply because they know they will lose the player at the end of the season/half season and they would prefer to develop their own youngster.
With a buyback, you essentially get to loan out a player and bring them back for cheap if they turn out to be good, but the buying club will have more incentive to actually use the player.Comment

There have been rumblings that Arsenal had a buyback clause with Bremen in regards to Gnabry. Still hoping that's the case.Comment

Would be Arsene "I almost signed him" finally gone full meta if you guys don't have one and he turns out as good as he looks like he might.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
He should stay with Bremen or at least change teams inside the Bundesliga. It is going to be extremely difficult for Bremen to keep him; almost impossible i would say. But i don't see him getting a grip in England, let alone at Arsenal.Comment

Those two years of complaining and sulking by Berahino has finally paid off. He finally got the transfer he was after.....to Stoke. When keeping it real goes wrong.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I'm fairly confident he'll get to showcase his talent in Ligue 1. For one reason or another, LvG just used him sparingly at a certain point last year -- loses the ball too easily being the chief reason, I assume -- and Mourinho simply hasn't found enough opportunities to put him in, especially when he was having trouble finding what his main tactic would be.Comment
